MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION Dear School Families, There is so much to be grateful for as we head towards Thanksgiving break. Thanks to everyone for the participation in our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. It is awesome to know that we will help so many families during this holiday season. Have you heard about Dolphin Donor Day? It is next Wednesday, November 15th and a great opportunity to support The Fund for St. Anthony. Thanks to generous matching donors you will have a chance to double your donation on Dolphin Donor Day! Let’s join together to see how much we can raise for STAOPCS on this 24-hour day of giving!

Our discipleship message for the week is about gratitude. With Thanksgiving next week it is a great time to remember how important it is to take time to let others know that you appreciate it when they help you or when they do something kind. If we never take the time to acknowledge what God has done in our lives or how others have helped us, we can become bitter and start to complain about everything. We need to develop an attitude of gratitude remembering to say thanks and show appreciation. Part of having an attitude of gratitude is to remember to thank God daily for all the blessings and graces He gives us.

We're all looking forward to our annual Saints Trivia Bee and Fall Book Fair next week along with our programs from Kindergarten and 3rd grade. The Book Fair will be open after Masses this weekend and next week. We are looking forward to having everyone join us for Pastries with Parents on Wednesday. Start in the Fellowship Hall for breakfast, walk your child to class and stay for morning announcements on DNN. We’re all getting excited about Thanksgiving break which will be followed by the start of the Advent season.

When we gather at table with our parish family this weekend for Mass, we will hear Jesus tell the parable of the ten virgins. We will all hear the message of how to be prepared for the Kingdom of God. Maybe we’ll attend the same Mass and get to see you there! May the coming week bring God's blessings to you and yours.

There are Lost & Found tables on each floor of our school. Please make sure your child checks the tables for their items. All items in Lost & Found on November 17th will be donated to charity so be sure to check it soon!

WHY DOES CAR LINE GET BACKED UP?

Cars who turn left onto Bay Branch or Kuykendahl after drop–off greatly slow traffic flow. Please make an effort to turn right onto Bay Branch or Kuykendahl after drop–off to alleviate the back–up issues.

WHERE SHOULD I PARK IF I AM WALKING MY CHILD INTO SCHOOL? OR PICKING UP FROM SHELTZ HALL?

For the safety of your children and to assist with the flow of car line, please only park in the rear parking lot off of Kuykendahl, south of the Parish Life Building and east of the church.

ALL–SCHOOL NEWS BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS Head on out to this fall’s Wild West Book Fair: Saddle up and read! We are rounding up volunteers to help students make their way to the reading frontier, where readers are wanted and adventure awaits!

If you can contribute as little as one hour it would be very much appreciated! Classes visit the book fair throughout the week. Click the Sign–up Genius Link for a list of times available to assist with each class. During your shift, you will help children make their Wish Lists and purchases.

We are also seeking volunteers to help with set–up and take–down. As always, thank you for volunteering!

Please make sure you follow our medication procedures. You cannot send medications in a Ziploc bag with your child to school with instructions for them to take it on their own. All medications must be checked in through the clinic. You are more than welcome to bring your child medication to school any time to administer. If you would like for the clinic/Mrs. Pavlock to administer then we must have a doctor’s note in place for any medications. Please see the Family Handbook, Page 60 regarding medication guidelines.

Reminder: If you would like to have your child screened by Carlin Speech Pathology, forms are due November 10th.

ALL–SCHOOL NEWS Welcome to Mr. Robert Barnes, our new Middle School Social Studies Teacher. Mr. Barnes is a native Texan, played football at Southern Methodist University, graduated with a BA in Physical Education, and has his Texas Teachers’ Certification to teach Physical Education and Social Studies.

FUN FACTS: He once played football for the Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, and USFL for the Chicago Blitz; He served as the Head Golf Pro at The Woodlands Country Club; He taught and coached at Jesuit College Prep in Dallas!

Please note the following changes: Pages 26-27: Visitors on Campus & Volunteers – More information on when VIRTUS© certification is needed by parents and visitors on campus as well as when younger siblings can join us.

Page 43: Formal Conferences – An explanation of how conferences are conducted for 4th-8th grades for the spring semester is included.

Page 72: Conduct Chart – Work Study Traits now stand alone and are not considered an infraction. Revisions to reflect this in weekly conduct cards and progress sheets will be made with the start of the 3rd quarter.
