CEEB Code

St. Andrew’s College is an independent boarding and day school for boys from Grade 5 to university entrance. Established in 1899, the School is dedicated to “the development of the complete man, the well-rounded citizen,” and seeks to accomplish this by teaching students to live and learn with others in a purposeful, orderly, and caring community.

Enrolment

The College

The College has been authorized to grant Ontario Ministry of Education credits and is accredited by the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS), the Conference of Independent Schools (CIS), and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). St. Andrew’s College was one of the first laptoptablet schools in Canada. Important Notes Class Load In completing the required 30 credits, St. Andrew’s students enrol in eight full-year courses in Grades 9 and 10; seven or eight in Grade 11; and six or seven in Grade 12. Five courses are permitted if a Grade 12 student has accelerated in his academics and/or has significant leadership and co-curricular roles and responsibilities. All full-year courses include 110 hours of classroom work. The Arts & Athletics The visual and performing arts are a central part of co-curricular life for students at St. Andrew’s College. Many boys elect to take advanced classes in music, art, and drama. These electives involve extensive out-of-class participation, including the College’s An Andrean Christmas concert, the annual school play, the CIS Music Festival, Focus Festival of the Arts, and the Cadet Inspection featuring the Pipes & Drums. There is a two-term athletic requirement for all students, although many students participate in all three terms, and teams in 22 varsity sports participate in the Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association (CISAA). Arts Co-Curricular Plus (ACPlus) ACPlus is a program built into our school schedule that allows Upper School students to participate in a wide variety of activities that allow them to explore their interests, develop their passions, and broaden their experiences. Students may choose one or two activities each term in a wide array of programming ranging from art and music to communication and coding.
