FOOTBALL LEGACY FUND
BACKGROUND
Since our founding in 1899, football has been woven into the fabric of St. Andrew’s College. As a sport typically played in the fall season, it was, in fact, our school’s very first representative team. From early matches against Toronto-area schools to the lore and beauty of Ackerman and Yuill Fields, and now, a competitive schedule that extends into the United States, football has long been celebrated by our community and provided a pathway to future successes on and off the field.
THE FOOTBALL LEGACY FUND
We are proud to introduce the Football Legacy Fund –a dedicated programmatic endowment to secure the future of football at St. Andrew’s. As our program continues to grow in size and reputation, this fund will ensure that level of excellence.
This fund will provide sustained support in four key areas:
Student Financial Aid
Football plays a pivotal role in attracting prospective students of all ages from across Canada and around the world. Through scholarships and bursaries, we can welcome talented student-athletes from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds who embody the values of teamwork, leadership, and character.
Coaching, Training, & Player Development
Our program extends beyond the fall season, offering year-round opportunities for skill development, strength training, recovery, nutrition, and academic support. We endeavour to offer the full slate of resources required to prepare our students for the next chapter of their academic and athletic careers –whether in university athletics or life beyond the game.
Supporting our coaches and trainers is equally vital. Continued investment in professional development ensures our leaders remain at the forefront of sport education and player mentorship.
Facility & Equipment
The Yuill Family Athletic Complex is more than a turf field; it is the heart of the Andrean spirit. Here, players take the field, parents cheer from the sidelines, and Old Boys relive the pride of their playing days. The Football Legacy Fund will help ensure these spaces, including Yuill and Ackerman Fields, locker rooms, and training facilities, continue to evolve and inspire. Each enhancement reaffirms our commitment to excellence and the sense of community that defines football, Homecoming, and life at St. Andrew’s.
Sustainability & Programmatic Support
With nearly one hundred boys participating in the program each year and growing demands to compete south of the border, the costs of travel, equipment, and meals continue to rise. The Football Legacy Fund is designed to grow in perpetuity through gifts and investment income, providing annual support for the program’s highest priorities. This funding source will ensure that future generations of school leaders, coaches, and players have access to the necessary resources, preserving football as a cornerstone of athletic life at St. Andrew’s.

From its earliest days to today’s international stage, football has embodied teamwork, resilience, and spirit that define St. Andrew’s College.
