Peterborough and Stamford, Thriving Together

RAF CRANWELL GRADUATION HIGHLIGHTS SUCCESS OF PETERBOROUGH AND STAMFORD COLLEGES’ AIR AND DEFENCE STUDENTS

The remarkable achievements of students from Peterborough College and Stamford Colleges’ Air and Defence College, took centre stage at a graduation ceremony held at RAF College Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

The event saw senior RAF officials, aerospace business leaders and proud families in attendance, as each Air and Defence student was awarded their graduation certificate. Since the launch of the Air and Defence College, hundreds of students have graduated, taking advantage of the unique employer-led programme that has paved the way for RAF Basic Recruit Training, apprenticeships, jobs and further education in the aerospace sector.

Inspire Education Group was also awarded the Bailey Trophy, honouring the legacy of RAF pilot Sam Bailey. Sam, who tragically lost his life in 2012, is remembered for his dedication to fitness and leadership. This trophy, awarded annually to the Air and Defence College with the highest fitness scores, was presented to the IEG cohort on the evening.

OVER 900 INSPIRE EDUCATION GROUP STAFF ATTEND ANNUAL STAFF CONFERENCE HOSTED AT KINGSGATE CONFERENCE CENTRE IN PETERBOROUGH

Inspire Education Group (IEG) wrapped up its big annual Staff Conference and Awards Ceremony at the Kingsgate Conference Centre in Peterborough.

The event brought together over 900 staff members from across the Group, making it a great opportunity for collaboration, celebration and professional growth. The conference featured a robust line-up of speakers to foster a culture of innovation and excellence within IEG. Keynote speaker Dr Paul Redmond, a renowned expert in generations X, Y, Z and the graduate labour market, delivered an insightful presentation on building and motivating multigenerational teams in today’s workplace.

Suzie Lavington from Art of Brilliance captivated attendees with strategies to enhance self-esteem and confidence, encouraging them to embrace new challenges. Tammy Banks shared her inspiring personal journey, highlighting the profound impact of kindness and valuesdriven leadership.

INSPIRE EDUCATION GROUP HOST AoC REGIONAL EQUITY EXCHANGE, SHOWCASING COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION

Inspire Education Group proudly hosted the AoC Regional Equity Exchange last week, bringing together further education (FE) practitioners from across the East region. The event focused on sharing best practices and innovative approaches to promoting equity within the educational sector.

The AoC Regional Equity Exchange provided a collaborative platform for FE professionals to reflect on their experiences, share successes and inspire each other to foster inclusive learning environments. By creating a psychologically safe space, the event encouraged participants to challenge ideas, support one another and drive collective innovation.

The event was marked by engaging discussions, insightful presentations and a spirit of camaraderie among FE colleagues. Attendees left with renewed inspiration and practical ideas to implement within their own institutions.

OSCAR EXHIBITS WORK AT LONDON’S ORIGINS CREATIVE 2024

Out of more than 500 nationwide entries, Stamford College student Oscar Cutmore’s work, ‘Dudley’ a short animated children’s film, has been selected to be exhibited at the Origins Creative 2024 exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.

Oscar, who also won Inspire Education Group Student of the Year last month, will have the exciting opportunity to see his work exhibited in a London venue open to the public.

He said, ‘The media course at Stamford gave me the understanding of industry skills and expectations.’

‘We were given the freedom to explore our creative interests and I now have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship for my degree in Visual Effects at Escape Studios in London.’

Oscar’s work was part of his Final Major Project for his Level 3 Media course at Stamford College which he exhibited during the College’s ‘Party in the Car Park’ final year showcase.

IEG AND ROLEC PARTNERSHIP TO DRIVE LOCAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN ELECTRIC VEHICLE SECTOR

In a notable move to support the electric vehicle charging industry, Inspire Education Group and ROLEC will partner to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the EV sector by combining IEG’s educational expertise with ROLEC’s cutting-edge technology. As part of their collaboration, IEG and ROLEC will focus on curriculum development, hands-on training and industry placements. This initiative aims to provide students with real-world experience and practical skills that are applicable to the EV charging industry.

The visit also included a tour of ROLEC’s custom-built manufacturing facilities, where IEG representatives observed the latest advancements in EV charging technology. This first-hand experience provided valuable insights into the operational aspects of EV charger production and the innovative solutions ROLEC is developing.

UNIVERSITY CENTRE PETERBOROUGH HAS

THE HIGHEST STUDENT SATISFACTION RATING ACROSS EAST ANGLIA ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL STUDENT SURVEY (NSS) 2024

University Centre Peterborough (UCP) achieved outstanding results in the latest National Student Survey (NSS), becoming the only college-based Higher Education provider in the top 50 and the highestplaced provider in the East of England.

Ranked 42nd, several key areas showed remarkable improvement, highlighting the institution’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and exceptional student experience to the local community.

“Teaching on my course” achieved an impressive 91.4%, up from 89.4% in 2023 and surpassing the benchmark of 89.7%.

“Academic Support” saw a significant increase, reaching 91.5% compared to 87.5% in 2023 and exceeding the benchmark of 89.5%.

Looking forward, both IEG and ROLEC are optimistic about their collaboration. A key highlight will be a visit to the new Centre for Green Technology at Peterborough College, which is set to open at the end of the year. The Centre aims to be a hub for green innovation and education, offering students cutting-edge resources and facilities to explore renewable energy and sustainable technologies.
