Our year-round courses offer excellent opportunities to create tailored programmes focused on each group’s specific needs. From our exciting, engaging English With Activities courses to supplementary courses, including IGCSE examination prep and our exclusive World of Work courses, there is something for every group.

New for this year is an over 18s course, English Essentials, that allows older learners to develop confidence in communicating in English. Delivered at our London, Canterbury and Cambridge centres, the programme is a great opportunity to improve English skills whilst exploring the UK. We are also pleased to now offer residential accommodation for juniors all year round in Canterbury and Bracknell.

• Healthy Meals - Every centre provides full board for juniors and a choice of board for adults.

• First Aiders –Each centre has trained first aiders and Student Services Officers who will be able to assist any student who feels unwell.

We are also founding members of Young Learners English UK, a group who are dedicated to ensuring excellence in all aspects of junior courses, especially student welfare.

We offer 3 main courses for junior groups: English With Activities, English Without Activities and Integration. Our English With Activities and English Without Activities programmes can be tailored to a group’s specific needs with our specialist course supplements. We also offer an over 18s programme, English Essentials, which can also be tailored to a group’s specific needs. For English teachers, we offer tailored courses on methodology and language skills.

Our core Junior year-round course offers 15 hours of English lessons plus a full programme of engaging activities, including project work and local visits. Our supplementary courses (page 7) can be used to tailor the course for students.

TEACHER COURSES

COURSES FOR TEACHERS

Canterbury | Cambridge | London

English language teachers can select from a variety of modules to create a tailored programme to meet their needs. Available modules include lessong planning, technology for language teaching, receptive skills and more. Programmes can be created for kindergarten, primary, secondary and higher education teachers. Opportunities to observe classes and teaching are available. Options to add general English classes with teaching methodology sessions.

INTEGRATION

Dover College weekly (residential)

Canterbury daily (homestay or residential)

The integration programme offers opportunity to integrate with English speaking students on a daily or weekly basis. Integration lessons will follow a number of subjects in English and may include Geography, History, Science or Maths. Integrated classes will be combined with English language lessons and activities.

WINTER CAMP

This programme offers students the chance to improve their English skills whilst also exploring Canterbury and the surrounding areas. Students will embark on a variety of exciting excursions, local visits, project work and activities over the course of this programme.

Students will stay in half board accommodation in homestay. If upgrading to residence the board will be self catering as standard.

An ideal course for those wanting to find out more about the working environment. Engaging, focused workshops and workplace visits provide students with useful knowledge and skills about work.

This programme allows students to study a vareity of subjects using the CLIL approach. An ideal opportunity to develop English language skills and subject specific vocabulary and knowledge.

Lessons focused on preparing for internationally recognised qualifications. PET, KET, FCE and CAE preparation offered. Academic and General IELTS preparation offered. Options to take the exam as part of the course depending on dates (extra costs apply).

OVERVIEW

Located just 30 minutes from Heathrow airport Newbold College is an excellent location to study and explore the UK from. Bracknell is just an hour away from London and its iconic sightseeing destinations, such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Covent Garden.

The school is also conveniently situated for visiting other locations of interest such as Oxford, Bath and Windsor, where you can visit Windsor Castle, the world’s oldest and largest inhabited castle.

The Lexicon, in Bracknell town, is Berkshire’s leading shopping destination with a fantastic selection of popular shops, cafés and restaurants.

CENTRE INFORMATION

THE SCHOOL

Newbold College is a safe campus environment located in Berkshire and close to major cities. It has residential accommodation available from late August to May, with comfortable modern twin rooms for students and ensuite singles for Group Leaders.

Classrooms are bright, spacious and well-equipped with technology. There are extensive sports fields as well as a newly renovated sports hall, which houses facilities for a variety of activities including 5-a-side football, badminton, volleyball and basketball.

Students will receive three meals per day. Meat will be served at three meals during the total course of the stay, with all other meals being vegetarian.

THE SCHOOL

Stafford House Cambridge is in the heart of the city. The school is close to lots of different local amenities, including a variety of shops and restaurants. It is also a short walk to Jesus Green, which is a lovely outdoor space close to the river.

Perfect for seaside seekers and history hunters, Canterbury is a bustling cathedral city originally built by the Romans. It’s close to the coast and less than 1 hour from London on the train, making it a great base to discover England from. Canterbury is a safe and comfortable city that is fun to explore and easy to walk around. The city centre is within walking distance of the school. There you will find lots of shops, restaurants and cafés ranging from high street favourites to independent stores.

THE SCHOOL

Stafford House Canterbury is a short walk from the city centre and is perfect for those looking for that classic English adventure. Stafford House’s Integration Course provides a great opportunity to learn alongside English speaking students from Dover College. Dover College is an independent day and boarding school in Dover, Southeast England. The school occupies some of Dover Priory. The College provides the perfect setting for an English learning adventure. Set around a central green with stunning views of the Castle and the English Channel the school boasts excellent facilities. There is an indoor sports hall, extensive green, cricket and volleyball nets, as well as a dance studio that students can enjoy. Dover College residential accommodation is onsite.

LOCATION

Perfect for history hunters, Canterbury is a bustling cathedral city originally built by the Romans. Fun to explore and easy to walk around, Canterbury is a safe and comfortable place for all. Close to the beaches of the south coast and within easy reach of London, it is a great base to discover England.

The city centre is within walking distance of the school and offers an abundance of shops, restaurants and cafés ranging from high street favourites to independent stores.

ACCOMMODATION

Homestay/Residence: Homestays allow students to practise their English with hosts and gain insight into Canterbury life and culture. We also offer residence accommodation, just a short walk from the school. All of our homestay hosts are carefully selected to ensure a safe and positive experience for our students. Some Canterbury homestay accommodations are provided by third-party agencies, located between a 5-minute walk and a 25-minute bus ride from the school.
