About Camp

St. Martin’s offers a wide variety of camp options each week. Our goal is to provide quality instruction and exciting offerings in a fun and challenging environment. Each week, campers will delve into a subject to learn, create, experiment and explore. We offer camps ranging from computer skills, engineering and science to drama, sports, dance and more. Many camps are led by highly-trained professional St. Martin’s teachers.

Registration All registrations must be made online. You can find the online registration on the Summer Camp tab found under Campus Life on the main St. Martin’s Episcopal School webpage.

Camp Hours Morning drop-off is available at 8:30 a.m.

Camp is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Morning Camps - 9 a.m. - noon Afternoon Camps - Hours vary All-Day Camps - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

After Camp - Hours vary Check the Camp Schedule on pages 4-5 to find what works best for you and your family.

Carpool Carpool will run each day at noon and 3 p.m. If pick-up is designated at any other time, please park and walk inside to the front desk to check out your child.

What to Wear, What to Bring Campers should wear athletic shoes, comfortable clothing and sunblock. Two snacks will be provided during the day. Campers are responsible for bringing their own lunch if they are staying for any camp that extends past 12 p.m.

Fees/Cancellation Parents must complete a separate online registration for each child. Camp fees vary per week depending on the activity. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. A $50 non-refundable registration fee is included in each camp fee. Cancellation of camp must be made no later than one week prior to the start

After Camp After Camp is mostly for working parents who need a bit more camp until their day ends. This camp is structured similarly to after-school Explorers and Enrichment classes.

The campers will have organized activities and stations such as arts and crafts, building with Legos, chess, kickball and much more. These camps run all eight weeks for campers of all ages.

Dr. Seuss Camp

Edible Science

Come join the Cat in the Hat, Sam-I-Am, the Grinch and all your other favorite Dr. Seuss characters for a week of fun. Each day, we’ll explore a different Dr. Seuss book. After reading it together, we’ll make crafts, play games and even taste some green eggs and ham. On Friday, we’ll all dress like our favorite Seuss characters. It is sure to be a week of wacky, wonderful fun!

Science should be fun. Science should be edible. Mrs. Lennon is back with this very popular summer camp that uses all edible ingredients. Come and discover science through exciting hands-on experiments that you can actually eat. You will have a blast mixing up mysterious potions of sugar, colors, flavors and so much more. Why not have your science and eat it too?

Basketball lovers should join this camp.

This will be a skills-heavy camp but will also play daily 3-on-3 tournaments and other fun games. Coach McDaniel has been coaching for over 15 years from 6th grade through Varsity.

Get out your magnifying glasses and detective hats to decipher clues and solve crimes in this mystery-packed camp. We’ll use put our critical thinking skills and STEM knowledge to the test as we learn the tricks real investigators use to solve cases. While experimenting with simple detection techniques, your child’s reasoning and problemsolving skills will become better than those of a CSI agent.

Students will solve problems by applying the simple engineering processes they will learn throughout the week. Each day, a new challenge will be presented to push their creativity to new heights. In a safe environment, students will learn how to operate simple and complex tools that will facilitate the engineering process. Possible projects may include motorized boats, air/ water rockets, marble roller coasters and egg-drop devices.

What makes cars fast? What makes some cars faster than others? Campers who want to know will learn, create, experiment and explore to find the answers. During this week they will explore the physics of racing, including speed, velocity and more through track design, car creation and other activities.

Each cheerleader will learn cheers, proper hand and body movements and jumping techniques with a big focus on fun. There will be a choreographed performance along with help from current cheerleaders from around Metro Atlanta. Campers will receive also cheer paraphernalia.

Spark your child’s interest in the fascinating world of science. With so much to discover in the Early Childhood STEAM Village, campers will spend the afternoon exploring whatever catches their interest. Every day they can discover new interests in the Science Lab, Tinker Lab, and Outdoor Classroom through child-led exploration and discovery centers. Join Mrs. Beckwith for this fun discovery camp to enhance your child’s scientific knowledge through play.

Empower your child with sports with an action-packed week of tennis. Our camp provides an unparalleled experience for your child by combining expert instruction, fun games and drills. With a low camperto-instructor ratio and groupings by age and skill, TGA camps provide individual attention and proper instruction for your child. Campers will work on racquet and rally skills, rules and etiquette, scoring lessons and fun games and challenges.

Tennis equipment is provided.

This half-day camp will be led by the SMES middle school baseball coach along with former St. Martin’s players. It will be a fun time for boys and girls who love baseball.

We will help them build a foundation for their game with the goal of becoming better baseball players. Emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals of baseball: throwing, catching, running, infield and outfield play and hitting.

This camp is a great way for kids to learn how to bake! They will not only make delicious desserts, but also will learn how to measure, mix, create and follow instructions from a cookbook. We will be making classic recipes like peach cobbler, bundt cakes, tarts and much more.

Love to sing? Dance? Act? Circus? Come alive and join Mr. Cody as we dive into the high-flying world of The Greatest Showman! Throughout this fun week of adventure, we will work towards a Friday performance of your favorite songs from the hit movie musical. You’ll never get enough of the circus skills we will learn such as juggling, magic tricks and showmanship! Come walk the tightrope as St. Martin’s School Presents … The Greatest Showman Camp!

Campers will create crafts, perform in Reader’s Theater and play games based on each day’s exciting book.

Kairos Learning Center at St. Martin’s Ashley Richards $1,400 - Week 1 of 2-week camp Extends into Week 3 Rising 1st - 3rd Grade Camp Hours - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Number of campers - min. 8, max. 12 Based on the multisensory OrtonGillingham Approach to reading, this is the perfect camp for children needing extra help with reading, writing and spelling. For two weeks, we will be working on reading and writing skills with some math and art fun in the afternoon. Campers will learn Orton-Gillingham spelling rules along with practicing reading comprehension strategies. This camp will be both academic and fun!

Art often tells stories. In this camp, the children will focus on a popular picture or section of a chapter book every day and use this inspiration to create an original piece of art. Campers will have so much fun creating their masterpieces that they won’t even realize they are familiarizing themselves with the elements of a story!

Theatre has many components, and this camp explores them all. Using their imaginations, campers and teachers will work together to create a story, design props and develop characters and dialog to make a unique play come to life.

Fairies and Friends

FUN Camp

Jurassic Jr. Detectives

Journey into the magical world of fairies.

This creative camp fosters friendships and exploration and provides sparkly fun.

Campers will take part in fairy-themed STEAM projects. We will design and create a fairy garden, make fairy bubble wands and much more! This is the perfect camp for imaginative children who love to create.

Back by popular demand is Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Dotson’s annual FUN Camp, where campers spend the week having fun! Campers will explore the EC STEAM Village, Nature Explore Classroom and playgrounds while participating in camper-led activities such as giant bowling, twister, water balloon baseball and “Minute to Win It” games. Campers should wear athletic shoes and be ready to have fun!

Stomp, fly, and crawl with us on a journey to the Jurassic period. We will travel back in time to learn about the giants that once roamed the Earth. Campers will take part in hands-on activities and games to learn exciting facts about dinosaurs. We will make fossil casts, dinosaur teeth and eggs and much more. If your child can’t stop talking about dinosaurs, then this is the camp!

Do you love spending your time drawing and painting? Do you wish you could take art classes to hone your skill? This camp is for you! In a creative, encouraging environment, campers will practice foundational drawing and painting skills while receiving individual art instruction by Ms. Green (sumnergreenart.com). Throughout the week, they will take home art projects, while also keeping up with their own sketch books. Every day will involve games and exploration.

The Cupcake Academy

Aleathia Burns $280 Rising 2nd - 8th Grade Camp Hours - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Number of campers - min. 8, max. 24 Cupcakes are not only cute, but also a great introduction for your child to learn the basics of baking. This camp will teach campers the basics of mixing, measuring, reading a recipe, decorating and learning how to use unconventional ingredients as substitutes which they will then use to design their own creations.

Drawing and Painting for Intermediate/Advanced

Sumner Green $275 Rising 1st - 5th Grade Camp Hours - 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Number of campers - min. 15, max. 25 If you spend most of your time drawing and painting and want to take your art to the next level, this is your camp! In a creative, encouraging environment, campers will receive advanced drawing and painting instruction by Ms. Green (sumnergreenart.com). Campers will learn intermediate-and-advanced drawing and painting tips and tricks while playing games and learning together. They will take home a large art project after the week is over while also keeping up with their own sketch books.

Reading Warrior

In Georgia’s first certified Nature Explore Classroom, campers will experience fascinating hands-on activities in nature including scavenger hunts, animal tracking, habitat and pond explorations, tinkering with the water cistern and time digging in the “dino-dig.” We will study the lifecycles of butterflies and ladybugs and release these little nature helpers into the garden.

Campers will turn into zoologists with daily visits to the Early Childhood Science Lab’s “Critter Corner” to help feed, clean and hold tortoises, turtles, frogs and insects.

Spark your child’s interest in the fascinating world of science! There is so much to discover in the Early Childhood STEAM Village. Number of campers - min. 6, max. 18 Cheer Mania will teach campers a variety of beginner skills to lead the crowd and support their team. Each cheerleader will learn cheers, proper hand and body movements and jumping techniques with a big focus on fun. There will be a choreographed performance along with help from current cheerleaders from around Metro Atlanta. Campers will also receive cheer paraphernalia!

Frozen II Camp

Number of campers - min. 8, max. 30 Come and enjoy the last week of camp with Elsa, Olaf and the characters of Frozen. We will learn, play and stay cool making icethemed projects such as snow slime, snowflake water bombs, ice volcanoes, freezy paints and much more. Boys and girls, keep calm and stay cool with us this week!

Number of campers - min. 8, max. 24 Do you love to sing and dance? Campers will work on scenes and songs from Broadway and pop music and perform for family and friends on the main stage. Improve vocal energy (power and diction), interpretation and acting of lyrics, the ability to pick up and refine choreography and the creation of dynamic relationships with the audience.

Campers have two professional teaching artists, Jeff and Heidi McKerley, to instruct them in singing, dancing and acting and guiding them through this fun-filled week that ends with a performance on the St. Martin’s stage!

This course is designed for rising 9th and 10th graders who have completed a year of Algebra 1 and need additional work and review before moving into a full course in Geometry. Topics covered will include angles, geometric definitions, properties of parallel lines, triangles, polygons, perimeter, volume, area and more. Throughout the course students will also use and review several skills they learned in Algebra 1.

St. Martin’s offers much more beyond the regular school day through our Explorers before- and after-school childcare and enrichment program.

Children meet after school where they enjoy a snack and some social time before working on homework or going to the library or computer lab.

Teachers supervise games, sports, outdoor play and other activities for the remainder of the afternoon.

Parents also may select from a menu of after school Enrichment Classes including arts & crafts, music, dance, karate, golf and more.
