Cattle Producers,
This year’s Calhoun Bull Evaluation has been awesome from start to finish. From the great quality to the ideal health and perfect docility, I really have enjoyed this set of bulls. Yes, they have growth. Yes, they have carcass merit. However, they also have genuine stoutness and power that truly translate EPDs to lbs. on the scale. Not only that, but this group is also a great set of bulls on the move and in overall build quality.
There will be an educational program the evening before the sale at the NWGA Livestock Pavilion (1286 Hwy 53 Spur, Calhoun, GA). Dr. Pedro Fontes will discuss heifer fertility and heifer development. Go to ugabeef.com for details. Unlike in years past, registration is required at ugabeef.com. Gordon County 4-H will be cooking the meal as a fundraiser for their livestock programming. Last year it was great! We are looking forward to that again this year.
If you have any questions or requests, please don’t hesitate to let me, Travis, Katie, or the GCA Bull Test Committee know. We appreciate you and look forward to working with you.
Regards,

Jason Duggin

Each sale-eligible bull has passed strict performance standards and has a complete record presented in the summary below the two-generation pedigree. Ultrasound
Bulls were scanned in accordance with the ILIA Lab
and
REA,
and Fat adjustments were made to 365 days of age.
All bulls selling have had DNA submitted to their respective breed association for genomic evaluation and parentage verification. This increases the EPD accuracy to provide more certainty in decision making.

A standout from day one, IWC Grit 22M has been turning heads from the start. Our Grindstone matings have proven very successful, with multiple bulls and females being retained. He’s very balanced in his phenotype, extended in his skeleton and cuts a striking profile. Extremely maternal in his pedigree, 22M has cow maker written all over him from his genetic profile to his soggy, low input makeup, he’s constructed in a stylish and efficient package. 22M qualifies as Top Dollar Angus Certified, a third party evaluation that confirms he meets performance and carcass EPD performance metrics.
