Welcome

On behalf of the consignors and sale staff for the 29th Annual Southern Showcase Sale, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Armuchee, Georgia on November 1, 2025. Each consignment in this joint production sale represents some of the top genetics available from these programs. Offerings will be made with almost every segment of the Simmental industry in mind. Select, high performance Angus and SimAngus genetics are also included in the sale again this year.

Are you searching for a prospective donor female that can produce great genetics and large dollars for your farm? We have got her in this offering. Need a bred or a cow calf pair that can be purchased for a reasonable price and then go right into the heart of your herd? Look no further because they will be here. Or maybe you have figured out that the best way for you to sample someone else’s best genetics is through a pregnant recipient. We have just the ticket for you. The same stout, trouble free, fully guaranteed bulls you have become accustomed to from these programs will be again offered through this sale. The bull is half the genetics of every calf! Throughout the sale there are truly unlimited opportunities for you as breeders to add to the top end of your herd good, solid, predictable, money making genetics.

For the last 29 consecutive years, the Southern Showcase Sale has provided breeders across the United States the opportunity to sample the best, most money making genetics its consignors have to offer. As the longest running sale of its kind across America, the Southern Showcase Sale and its consignors have sold success through these genetics to our customers. We have seen many other sales and breeders come and go over the years and have out lasted them all by providing a consistent, high quality investment at a reasonable price. Take advantage of the commitment of the breeders involved in this sale to add power and profitability to your program! History has proven that these reputation cattle are the money making kind – 29 years and counting, these cattle are doing something right!

Again this year, the Southern Showcase Sale will be held at the Select Cattle Enterprises Sale Facility near Rome, Georgia. This facility will allow consignors to display their offering in large, grassy runs for a greater ease of viewing prior to the sale. For precise directions please see the map and written directions on the inside back cover of this catalog.

If you have any questions about this offering, please don’t hesitate to contact the sale manager, consignors or any member of the sale staff. If you need assistance evaluating the offering, selecting your purchases and/or representation on sale day, feel free to contact the sale manager, any of the sale consultants, or the auctioneer. As always, there will be no charge to you for this service and we will each do our best to insure your total satisfaction.

You are invited to view the cattle beginning Friday morning, October 31, 2025 at the sale site. The consignors and sale staff will be on hand and would very much like to visit with you about the offering. Then join us Saturday morning, November 1, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. for further viewing of the cattle. This will be followed by the 29th Annual Southern Showcase Sale at 1:00 p.m.

Don’t take my word about the quality you will find at this event. Come and see for yourself! You will not be disappointed. I look forward to seeing you.

Sincerely,

HOW MUCH IS A BULL WORTH

We know that more pounds pay more dollars. Cattle Fax research shows that the most profitable producers in the US pay more for their bulls than other producers do. The most profitable producers know that a cheap, low quality bull can be your most costly mistake. Remember a bull’s genetics makes up half the entire calf crop. Buying a good bull yields excellent returns on your investment.

Let’s use EPDs and do a little “Cowboy Math” to figure out how much a superior bull is worth if you sell your calves at weaning:

(Bull A’s WWt EPD 60) minus (Bull B’s WWt EPD 50) =

10 pounds more WW from Bull A

X25 Number of calves per breeding season

250 Extra pounds of calf weaned per season from Bull A

X 5

Average number of years useful life per bull

1250 Total pounds increase during the life of the bulls

X$3.50 Price per pound at Weaning

$4,375 more value in bull A’s calves vs. bull B’s calves during their lifetime just due to 10 pounds of weaning Weight EPD.*

*If you use your bulls in both fall and spring then he is worth $8,750 more. Just adapt the numbers to fit your situation and see how much more our bulls are worth to you. With these conditions, for every 10 pound advantage in Weaning WT. EPD, a bull returns to you $8750. Therefore, if Bull A is 30 pounds heavier than bull b for Weaning Wt EPD, then he will return to you an additional $26,250 over his lifetime.
