Celebrating St. Philip’s Legacy Families
St. Philip’s is fortunate to have the ambassadorship and support of several families for two or more generations. Deemed LEGACY FAMILIES, many of these members have served as trustees, volunteers, major donors, and advocates for St. Philip’s School and Community Center within the last 40 years.
Some were first engaged through the shared Episcopalian and Christian faith, others were drawn to St. Philip’s after witnessing its impact in the South Dallas community or in the lives of the children and youth we serve. Regardless, of how these families first connected with the St. Philip’s ministry, we can contest that our important work would not be possible without their unyielding, compassionate support.

“Sam and Ruth Bussey began supporting St. Philip’s in 1995. They officially created the Sam & Ruth Bussey Foundation in 2005 and decided that St. Philip’s School and Community Center would be at the top of the list of recipients. My father passed away a few years ago. This tradition has been carried on by my husband and me, Beverly and Joseph and granddaughter, Stephaney. Our family continues to support St. Philip’s with our treasures.”
– Mrs. Beverly Gipson
“We are convinced that an investment in early education is the best possible investment we can make. St. Philip’s provides an exceptional education to hundreds of deserving children – preparing them for high school and college and helping them grow into confident, empowered leaders who understand responsibility and service.”
– Jon Mosle, III
