A STRATEGIC VISION FOR SAINT PETER’S PREP LOOKING BEYOND THE HORIZON:

STRATEGIC PLANNING PILLARS

Now and always, Prep’s Jesuit identity and Ignatian values light the way in every aspect of our work. Every policy, decision, and action supports our dedication to holistically develop the minds, hearts, bodies, and characters of boys in becoming men for and with others.

Prep challenges students to engage with a rigorous, forward-thinking curriculum that fosters critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for lifelong learning.

IMPACT AREAS THAT EMBOLDEN OUR JESUIT MISSION

• Adapt the curriculum to prepare students for an evolving job market.

• Research and integrate evolving technologies to inform and improve teaching and learning processes.

• Invest in ongoing professional development for faculty to ensure continuous improvement and innovation in teaching methods (e.g. Ignatian Pedagogy, use of AI, etc.).

• Identify opportunities to further develop faith formation, independence, leadership, responsibility, and discipline among students.

• Continue to support the mental health and personal growth of our students.

• Deepen the culture of active engagement and mutual support within the student body (e.g. attendance at games, performances, retreats, etc.).

• Research and establish partnerships with local businesses to provide mentorship and internship opportunities that connect classroom learning to realworld experiences.

• Conduct demographic research and market analysis as a basis for strategic enrollment planning for the next 5-10 years.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of our current communications and marketing strategies and implement recommendations to:

• Ensure student diversity.

• Capture the growing population of prospective students in our immediate area while also maximizing our enrollment yield from the broader region.

• Address the concurrent decline of Catholic feeder schools and rise of tuition-free charter and magnet high schools.

Within and beyond our walls, Prep strives to forge lifelong connections and friendships among students, alumni, families, faculty and staff, and neighbors. From diverse backgrounds and experiences, we are inspired by Jesus’ command to love one another.

• Continue to reimagine the advancement team to optimize fundraising efforts and donor relations.

• Develop a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes, but is not limited to, strategies offered by CCS.

• Establish and utilize benchmarks to determine growth and success

• Update the alumni database and create a comprehensive alumni engagement plan to strengthen alumni connections and support.

• Develop programs that foster relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and organizations to increase support and collaboration.

SUSTAINABILITY

We commit not only to maintain the richness of the Prep experience but to deepen it—by making a Jesuit education as accessible to students as possible, by providing exceptional teaching and state-of-the-art learning environments, and by engaging in the comprehensive planning necessary to realize these aims.

• Develop a long-term (5-10 year) financial plan that incorporates the demographic study for enrollment strategy.

• Expand the financial aid program to make the school more financially accessible.

• Recognize affordability extends beyond tuition, to the fullness of the Prep experience.

• Ensure competitive faculty and staff compensation.

• Explore and secure grants and partnerships with corporations and foundations.

• Review the current budget process to ensure best practices.

• Review and possibly reword the mission statement for greater clarity and inspiration in our current context while still embodying our core values.

• Enhance faculty/staff formation to strengthen Ignatian identity in all areas of school life

• Establish a comprehensive campus plan that enhances the student experience and considers future needs of 22ndcentury curriculum and pedagogy, including:

• Expanded athletic facilities

• A suitable dining hall

• A flexible gathering space for performances, Mass, assemblies, and large events.

• Assess the value of the physical plant.

• Establish processes to ensure stability for key administrative positions.
