One Hundred Forty-Seventh Annual Commencement of
Saint Peter’s Preparatory School
James F. Keenan, S.J. Field
Tuesday, June 3, 2025

Welcome
Thank you for joining us as we celebrate the Saint Peter’s Prep Class of 2025. Our ceremony today is a celebration of two journeys. Our graduates have walked many roads together as Prep students for four years, and over the rest of their lives they will walk many more, forging paths all their own, as Prep men forever—Prep men for life.
This is a joyful moment not only for our graduates and their families, but for the faculty, staff, administration, and trustees of Saint Peter’s Prep. Today, the young boys we met four years ago walk together one last time as young men, formed in our tradition of Jesuit education. And today, once again, we see our mission and our work made awesomely real in the form of our newest alumni. In recognition of this moment’s significance, and out of respect to our graduates and their guests, we ask that you observe a few simple courtesies today:
• Please remain at and in your seats. Remember, everyone here this morning has someone they have come to see and applaud. We invite you to take pictures or video of the proceedings, but ask that you do not distract or block the view of others.
• Please be sure to silence all mobile phones and electronic devices during the ceremony.
• As our graduates receive their diplomas today, we will pause periodically in the reading of names. Please hold your applause until these pauses so that each graduate’s name can be heard.
• Please refrain from smoking, eating, or drinking (aside from water) while on the Keenan Field turf.
We are honored to welcome you to James F. Keenan, S.J. Field and our Downtown Jersey City home, and hope you enjoy your time with us today. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!

Pride & Glory
The melody of “Pride & Glory” is adapted from a 1919 composition by the legendary American songwriter, Cole Porter. At the conclusion of the ceremony, we will continue a time-honored tradition by inviting all Prep alumni in attendance—and particularly our newest alumni, the Class of 2025—to stand and join in singing Prep’s alma mater.
It is our pride and our glory, Old in song and in story. And we cherish your name, And we love your fair fame For the days of long ago. And we your sons will be loyal To Saint Peter’s so royal. May your banners still guide us, Wherever we go!
It is a story of gladness, With no shadow of sadness: Our years spent with you, Saint Peter’s so true, And you hold our hearts’ love yet. And through the years we will treasure, With a joy beyond measure, The gifts you have given. We shall never forget!
