FORMAT

All classes will be held according to current AVA rules and/or AVA Guidelines, unless stated differently in the Class List. The Class List will list the descriptions and criteria for any unrecognized classes. Please be sure to check the current AVA Rules/Guidelines for the pertinent classes. Ribbons will be awarded 1st through 5th . All participants (including lungers) MUST BE AVA members as of May 6, 2014 or submit the AVA Non-Member form (download at www.americanvaulting.org/PDF/NonMemb.pdf, $25 fee). Foreign competitors must submit a letter or email from their FN stating that they are in good standing. Draw for order of go within classes will be done by computer on May 7, 2014. The Order of Go will be emailed to participating clubs and posted on CompWeb by May 10. Changes will be posted on the OOG on CompWeb as they come in.

DEADLINE

Close of Entries is May 6, 2014. CompWeb will close midnight on May 6, 2014. Mailed ENTRIES must be postmarked no later than May 1. All signed releases and payments (ONE check per club please) for each participant (lungers and vaulters) must be postmarked on or before May 6, 2014. Make checks to “USEDC” and mail to Marianne Rose, 11845 Skyline Blvd., Los Gatos, CA 95033. Any mail requiring signature will be refused.

CHANGES AND ADDITIONS

Post entries of vaulters are NOT allowed per AVA Rules. Changes and additions after May 6 may be allowed at management’s decision. Email all changes/additions to marianne@mariannerose.net. Changes after May 15 will incur a $10 fee per change/addition. Refunds will be given ONLY with a completed Refund Request Form (see page 8) and a Doctor or Vet’s note.

SCHEDULE

Vaulting practice available June 16 and til noon on the 17th. Competition begins at 1pm on June 17th and will run through June 21 between 8 am and 5 pm. Lowest levels will go first moving up to the highest levels. The final rounds of the upper levels will be Saturday (June 21) afternoon. Daily awards ceremonies at the end of competition. Classes will be run according to the schedule. Please be on deck and ready to go at your scheduled time. If the schedule is running ahead, be prepared to enter up to 15 minutes early.

COST

REGISTRATION $45 (includes $7 AVA and $7 Region II Fees) for all vaulters. CLASSES $10 per go per vaulter for Team Events. $15 per go per vaulter for Individual/Pas de Deux/Pairs Events. See payment sheet page 10.

STABLING

Stalls are 12’ x 12’ for $105 for three days. Outdoor/shaded paddocks are $30 per day. Tack stalls are $75 each for 3 days. Extra days are $25 for a single/tack. Horses may arrive as early as 8 am on the 16 (Monday) and must leave by noon on the 22nd (Sunday). Three bags of shavings are included for each single stall and 6 bags for a double. You do not have to strip the stalls when you are leaving. Participating horses which do not use a stall are charged a $15 day (per day) use fee.

FOOTING

Sand/dirt mix in indoor arena. Fiber/dirt mix in outdoor arenas. All competition and warm-up circles will exceed 7.2.5 diameter.

Music

Music with words is allowed in ALL classes. Music will be CD’s ONLY to be turned in to the music station a half hour before competition starts for the morning and a half hour before competition starts for the afternoon. CDs must be clearly marked with class/division/name of vaulter or group. It is advisable to have a club member next to the music station during the performance to assist with any problems/backups. Pick up your CD’s at the end of each day. Management is not responsible for CD’s not retrieved at the end of the competition.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Ribbons (1st through 5th for all classes/rounds, men and women separate for individual classes) will be awarded at the end of each competition day. Vaulters must be in matching team outfits or competition leotards to enter the arena for awards. The daily awards will be posted near the office. Flip flops, t-shirts, jeans, torn shorts, unitards half off, etc. will not be acceptable. Vaulters must look clean and neat.

FOOD

Food will be provided on site. 7 am to 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Breakfast foods, burgers, salads, etc.

IMPORTANT SHOW INFORMATION

Coaches Check-in is Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m - 12 pm. Vaulters, longurs, coaches and horse owners without signed/submitted release forms will NOT be permitted to enter the arenas. Vaulter practice is only allowed in the arena so designated. Vaulters practicing in any other locations may be expelled from the competition. Practice on the vaulting barrels will be allowed only when an adult is present and supervising. Judges Decisions: The judge has the right to excuse from the competition any horse which is uneven, unlevel, in bad condition or which shows signs of discomfort, and/or which is behaving in an unsafe manner which may endanger the safety of the vaulters. Management is not responsible for the decisions of the judge. Changes: Management reserves the right to correct any error or make changes in the program or class list.

IMPORTANT FACILITY INFORMATION

ADMISSION FEES: A packet of information including “All Access” passes for all vaulters/coaches/lungers/ horse owners will be mailed to all participating clubs. Weeky Admission fee is $5 per day/$20 per week. Parking fee is $5 per day/$20 per week available at the gate.. VIDEO/PHOTOGRAPHY: All professional photogrpahers and members of the working media must be credentialed. Media credentials must be displayed at all times. Highlights of the Super Ride XII festival will be recorded and edited for inclusion as a special presentation of With Equestrian Tact: The international Video Magazine of the Equestrian Sports.. BANNERS: Each competing club is allowed one 3’x5’ banner in the arena (no commercial advertising). Location will selected by show management. TRAILERS: All trailers must park on the open gravel lot by the RV Park after unloading. Trailers in unpermitted areas will be towed and a $100 fine will be assessed on the appropriate club. If you have an equipment trailer, you may request a permit to park it for a fee. HORSE EXERCISING: All horses must WALK unless in an arena. Smoking: is allowed outdoors only. PETS: Pets allowed on leash. They may not be disruptive. Clean up after pets. Children: must be supervised by their parent or coach AT ALL TIMES.

1. PARKING: Parking in designated areas only. NO PARKING is allowed in the barn area. TEMPORARY PARKING in barn areas is for the unloading and loading of trailers only. All trailers should be dropped in the approved lot and are not allowed to park in the stabling area. Public Parking is in designated areas only. 2. CAMPER’S/RV’S/HORSE TRAILERS WITH LIVING SPACE: Must go to campground for hook-up. NO HOOK-UP ALLOWED TO THE BARNS AT ANY TIME! Limited spots available please reserve you space through the TRHP Show Services Office. RV spaces are assigned through TRHP Show Services Office. 3. GOLF CARTS/ATV’S: a privilege-not a right-extended to show participants. Must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Golf carts can be rented through TRHP show services in the show office. Golf carts are rented on a first come first served bases and TRHP strongly suggests that reservations be made in advanced. NO FOUR-WHEELERS, THREE WHEELERS, OR MOTOR BIKES OVER 50 cc ARE ALLOWED ON PARK GROUNDS. Golf Carts, mopeds, rural rate vehicles such as Gators and Mules, scooters, small motor bikes, and bicycles are allowed. No wheeled vehicles/boards/etc. in barns or within sight of horses. 4. DOGS: Must be on a leash (not to exceed 6 feet in length) or suitably restrained in a tack stall/cage etc. Loose animal/s left in vehicles in distress, etc. can and will be removed from the grounds at the owner’s expense. 5. HORSES: Have the right-of-way at all times. 6. EXHIBITOR PROBLEMS/SPECIAL REQUESTS: All non-emergency problems or special requests must be relayed through show management to ensure prompt attention. 7. FIRE CODES: TRHP does not allow any of the following in stalls, barns or tents: No 2-prong plug appliances. No 2-prong plug extension cords. No light duty cords for indoor use. No 3-way adaptors unless specifically made for outdoors. No cooking in barns or temporary tent stalls. No smoking in barns or temporary tent stalls. No overloading electrical outlets. No electrical cords on the ground or buried. FANS IN THE STABLE AREA THAT ARE CONNECTED TO A 3-PRONG HEAVY DUTY OUTDOOR EXTENSION CORD OR 3-PRONG OUTDOOR ADAPTER ARE ACCEPTABLE. 8. STALLS: TRHP does not permit the use of any nails, fencing staples, screws, duct tape, or any other things to be driven into any portion of the stalls or buildings, nor the signs to be affixed, with any type of material(s) that may cause damage, changes, alterations, repairs, painting or staining of any part of the stalls or buildings. Any erection or installation of equipment must be made with material(s) that are temporary in nature and will not cause permanent damage such as zip-ties, Velcro, light duty staples, masking tape, etc. 9. WASTE DISPOSAL: All trash should be placed in proper containers that are located throughout the park. Muck generated during event must be placed in designated areas. Muck should not be placed in the barns, at the end of the barns, or in any other non-designated area. 10. DIRECTIONS to FACILITY

From the East (Shreveport Area) take I-20 west to the Van/Tyler, Highway 110 exit (#548). Turn left/south. Go approximately 1 mile. The equestrian center is on the left. From the West (Dallas Area) take I-20 east to the Van/Tyler exit, Highway 110 exit (#548). Turn right/south. Go approximately 1 mile. The equestrian center is on the left. From the South (Houston area) take US 287 north to TX-155 towards Tyler. At FM- 2661 turn left. Left again at TX -64, right onto CR- 413, then left at FM -724. Follow FM-724 to CR-42 and turn right. At TX-110 turn left. The equestrian center is on the right. From the South (San Antonio area) take I-35 north to US-84 and turn right. Follow US-84 to TX-31, turn right. At FM-314 turn left, right on to FM-279, left on to FM-314 then right onto CR-4906. At CR-4907 turn left to a right turn at CR-4908. (This road turns into CR-426) At CR-422 turn right, then right on to FM-1955 and left on to TX-110. The equestrian center is on the right.

Into the Future

Philosophy: Judged on best theme and entertainment value, which includes, but is not limited to, audience reaction, costumes, choice and use of music and representing how vaulting can become an entertainment option in various venues. Horses • Only one or two in the arena • Must be in-hand or lunged • All tack must be AVA approved • May be “decorated • Braiding optional Vaulters • No more than four per horse in the arena (maximum of three on the horse at any time) • May walk, trot and/or canter. • Vaulters at the walk must enter the arena already mounted or have a boosted mount • If having a boosted mount, horses may be halted • Trot and canter vaulters must mount while the horse is in motion • Vaulters may mount at the trot and perform at the canter and vice versa • If two horses are being rotated, vaulters may have a boosted mount while their horse is waiting its turn Longeurs • May switch out and become a vaulter • Are an integral part of the performance and should therefore dress commiserate with the theme of the performance or wear something completely neutral Time • Begins when the first horse/ person enters the gate • Maximum of four and one-half minutes but must be appropriate for number of vaulters and horses • Time ends when final bow/salute starts • Must enter arena within thirty seconds of introduction • Must totally exit arena within one minute from beginning of final bow/salute • Not meeting the times set will result in penalties including disqualification at judges’ discretion Performance • Performance is to take place in the entire arena, not just the vaulting circle • A formal bow/salute is not required as the performance begins when you enter the arena • A signal, bell or whistle, will be sounded at four minutes • A final bow/salute to the audience is not required, but is recommended • Remember the points set forth in the Philosophy above Judging • Will be done from the stands • Possibly by several professionals from various artistic genres in addition to vaulting judge(s) • Four to six competitors will be chosen to compete in the Grand Finale on Saturday afternoon. Awards • No awards will be given in preliminary rounds • Awards will be given after the Grand Finale competition on Saturday afternoon • All finalists will split a cash jack pot will depend on number of total Into the Future entries

Concours d’elegance

Purpose: To present the most well-turned-out, elegant combination of horse, longuer, vaulter and groom in a manner that would be most attractive to an audience of both those familiar with equestrian vaulting and those new to the sport. Entries: • An entry consists of a horse, a longuer, a vaulter from the same vaulting team plus a groom • Horse, longuer, and vaulter must be current American Vaulting Association members • Groom does NOT have to be an AVA member • Entry fee is $20 with half ($10) going into a jackpot • If there are five or more entries an additional $100 will be added to the jackpot Judging: • Round one judged on: - Grooming and conditioning of the horse - Cleanliness and fit of tack and equipment - Appearance of longuer, vaulter, and groom • Round two judged on overall appearance and performance as horse, longuer, and vaulter are presented in the vaulting circle or arena Please email Frank Pace, Vaulting Liaison for Super Ride 2014, at fpace@flash.net for complete rules and guidelines for this class.
