District Three Lodges, Members Team Up To Raise $27,250 for Czech Heritage Museum Based on successful results from participation in the CEFT/North Texas University Czech Music Chair Drive, District Three voted in the October, 2006, meeting to contribute to the Czech Heritage Museum (formerly the SPJST Library, Archives and Museum) Challenge Grant and asked all District Three lodges to participate on the theory that there is strength in numbers. At this same meeting, District Three Director Johnnie Krizan pledged the balance of his director’s discretionary funds for 2006 on a matching basis with any contribution from District Three or any of its lodges. Through their generosity, the matching pledge was exceeded and the campaign drive carried over into Continued on Page 2.

SPJST to announce 2007 State Fraternalist of the Year at Awards Banquet Since 1987, SPJST SPJST Proudly Salutes 2007 has honLocal Lodge Fraternalists of the Year ored its outstanding statewide fraternalists— members who have demonstrated exceptional service to the lodge and community. Local lodge fraternalists are then considered for statewide recognition. The applications are reviewed and a decision is made by an outside selection committee. Susan Skrabanek 30 Years of Devotion, Dedication After 30 years of service as youth leader to SPJST Lodge 17, New Tabor Youth Club, Susan Skrabanek passed the torch to her niece and former youth club member Mabrey Dowell. Sister Skrabanek was honored with a farewell reception on January 6 at New Tabor Hall. She is pictured above with the plaque that was presented to her recognizing her years of service.
