SPJST Welcomes Chester Jenke as State Fraternal Activities Coordinator Chester Jenke of Seguin, Texas, has been hired to serve as interim SPJST State Fraternal Activities Coordinator, effective Thursday, June 1. As State FAC, Brother Jenke will work to help lodges and lodge officers achieve their fraternal objectives. He will also promote membership and participation in SPJST’s incentive program as well as the SPJST’s statewide fraternal programs and contests; moreover, he will assist lodge FACs in complying with various fraternal reporting requirements. A charter member and President of Lodge 258, Seguin, Brother Jenke brings with him nearly 20 years of lodge and fraternal management experience. He previously served as State Field Manger for the Sons of Hermann (SOH), working out of the Grand Lodge in San Antonio, Texas. As State Field Manager, he was in charge of training lodge officers and sales representatives. Prior to that, he served as SOH’s marketing coordinator, during which time he developed and implemented their annuity and IRA programs. He started with the

Grand Lodge as a travelling auditor, providing assistance to lodges and sales support. Brother Jenke is excited to take on his new role with the SPJST and looks forward to visiting with lodge members and officers. “My top objective will be to help our lodges. That means providing lodge officer training and helping lodges realize their fraternal potential,” he says. The position of State FAC has been designated as a field position and he will be working closely with Fraternal Services Specialist Tammy Martinez in the SPJST Home Office. “We’re happy to have Chester aboard,” says Supreme Lodge President

Brian Vanicek. “He brings a lot of practical, hands-on experience to this position.” Brother Jenke previously served as President of the Texas Fraternal Congress — the statewide trade and service association of fraternal benefit societies domiciled in Texas. In addition, he has served in numerous lodge officer positions, including President of the SOH Kirby Lodge No. 305 as well as SOH Seguin Lodge No. 37. Born and raised in Marion, Texas, Brother Jenke is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys deer hunting, fishing, and a good game of horseshoes. On the inside, he likes bowling and playing dominoes. “I still need to learn how to play taroky,” he says with a smile, referencing the Old World Czech card game played by an increasing number of men, women and children throughout state. Annually, the SPJST hosts its Statewide Tarok Tournament in January. Chester and his wife, Colleen, observe their 42nd wedding anniversary on June 5.
