PROJECT VAL VERDE May 31 to june 2 Over the years, Camp Val Verde in McGregor has been the site of many SPJST summer camps. Generations of campers have enjoyed camping at the scenic 391-acre camp located approximately 12 miles southwest of Waco. Years of use, however, have taken their toll on the property, which is owned by the Camp Fire USA Tejas Council. In partnership with Camp Fire, the SPJST will be coordinating a fix-up campaign which will culminate with a threeday adult volunteer work session at Camp Val Verde from Tuesday through Thursday, May 31 to June 2. All interested adults are invited to participate in the three-day project. If you, your lodge or youth club would like to help or donate to the project, please contact SPJST STate Youth Director John Hoelscher at (800) 727-7578. Thanks for all you do!
