Lidice Remembered SPJST State Field Representative Billy Rollwitz views SPJST Museum exhibit dedicated to the memory of the Czech village of Lidice. Sixty years ago on June 10, 2002 — Nazis retaliating the assassination of a top SS official — destroyed the Czech village of Lidice. It was Adolph Hitler's intent to make an example of the little town by wiping it of the face of the earth. See related story on page 17. Brother Rollwitz, who was in Temple for a sales meeting, will be back ome in Rowena this Saturday, June 8, as Lodg- 49, Rowena hosts the District Four and Concho Valley Czech Heritage Society Czech Fest. See related article on page 13.

Anticipation . . . Austin Lee Vaughan, 6, accompanied by his grandfather James Cooper watches and waits — hoping that the spinning wheel stops on his number so he can win a prize. Austin and his grandfather were among the many who attended Lodge 80, Holland's annual picnic held May 19 at Lodge 80, Holland. See related photos on page 10.
