Pacific Publishing is currently seeking a Jogger/Press Assistant, to work in our South Seattle SODO plant operating a newspaper “cold set” web press. Position will help operate multiple web units, stack printed materials and move printing materials between locations within the plant. The position is part of a lean small team operating from Monday to Friday. (40 hrs a week). This is an entry level position. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. We will provide the training. Queen Anne education organization puts focus on students of color

At the end of an academic school year, teachers may ask their students questions such as what they are going to do when they graduate? Some may want to go to a four-year university, while others may want to go to a twoyear college or an apprenticeship program. College Spark Washington is
an organization based in Queen Anne that tries to improve educational opportunities for all students by addressing the inequities in the education system and putting students of color at the center of major academic decisions. New housing in Uptown
Kristen Benson Place opens last week
Plymouth Housing celebrated the second of six buildings funded through its PROOF Capital Campaign when it announced the opening of Kristin Benson Place in Uptown, Oct. 28. Plymouth Housing, a nonprofit that preserves, develops and operates permanent supportive housing in Seattle, opened the building at the corner of Second and Mercer Street. It provides 91 apartments for single adults who have previously experienced homelessness. “Kristin Benson Place honors the legacy of Kristin 'Kris' Benson, who tirelessly advocated for Plymouth residents in her role as a housing case manager and was known by all for her kindness, compassion and commitment to the work of ending homelessness,” Plymouth Housing CEO Paul Lambros said in a press release. “Her memory will live on through this building, which will provide safety, healing and a new future for its residents,” Lambros continued. The development was made possible through an exchange of land owned by Seattle Center to

Along with the Office of Housing, the Office of Arts and Culture then made a joint investment in so the building can be used as an arts space, as well. Plymouth Housing partnered with Path with Art, a local organization that utilizes art to help people who have experienced trauma heal, to create and run a
ground-floor art space that brings the arts directly to residents and community members, according to the press release. “Plymouth has always been on the forefront of creating permanent supportive housing and understands the value of supporting people through hope, connection and creativity. Together, Path with Art and Kristin Benson Place provide a venue to build indi-
vidual restoration and meaningful community resilience at a time when the need is critical," Path with Art CEO Holly Jacobson said in the press release. Residents living at the Uptown location will have access to transportation, cultural amenities and green space, along with a range of supportive services, according to the release. The building will be staffed 24 hours a day.
