WhatisMusicCityCorporateChallenge(MCCC)?
MusicCityCorporateChallengeisanOlympic-styleeventthatallowsGreaterNashville Areacorporationstointeractwitheachotherthroughavarietyofsportingevents. Companieswillcompeteinthefollowingsports: Dodgeball•SandVolleyball•Cornhole•Pickleball•Bowling•Trivia
Competitionswilltakeplaceoverthecourseoffiveweeksandcompanieswillearnpoints towardtheiroverallteamscorebasedonparticipation,placementandvolunteersupport. Afteralleventshaveconcluded,thecompanywiththemostpointsintheirdivisionwillbe crownedtheMusicCityCorporateChallengeChampion.
WhatisthepurposeofMusicCityCorporateChallenge?
ThemissionofMCCCistopromotehealth,wellness,andcamaraderieintheNashville businesscommunitybypresentingparticipantswithaunique,positiveenvironmentdesigned tochallengetheirbodiesandmindsthroughthespiritofcorporatecompetitionswhile supportingSpecialOlympicsTennessee.Theeventservestwomainpurposes toprovide corporationsintheGreaterNashvilleareaanopportunitytopromoteemployeefitness andtobenefitSpecialOlympicsTennessee(SOTN).
WhatwhenisMusicCityCorporateChallenge?
EventswillstartJuly8 andconcludeonAugust5 withourTriviaandAwardsnight, presentedbyJacksonNationalLife.Schedulesforeachcompetitionwillbepublished aftertheregistrationdeadline(June20 ).Scheduleswillvarybasedonthetotalnumber ofteamssigneduptocompeteineachdivision.
WhobenefitsfromMusicCityCorporateChallenge?
Alongwiththehealthandpersonalbenefittoeveryoneinvolved,themonetary benefactoroftheMCCCisSpecialOlympicsTennessee,whoprovidesyear-roundsports trainingandathleticcompetitioninavarietyofsportsforchildrenandadultswith intellectualdisabilities(ID).SpecialOlympicsTennesseeservesover18,000athletes acrossthestateandhostsover250eventsperyear,freeofchargetoathletes.

EligibilityRequirements
CompanyEligibilityRequirements
Companyisdefinedasarecognizedlegalentity,suchas,forexample,acorporation, partnership,limitedliabilitycompany,city,town,orothergovernmentalagencyor department.
Subsidiariesofparticipatingcompaniesmaycompetejointlywiththeirparentcompany, solongastheparentownsatleast50%ofthesubsidiary,andallsubsidiaryemployeesare includedinthetotalemployeecount.
CompaniesmaycombinewithothercompaniestoformasingleMCCCparticipatingunit, solongaseachisingoodstandingasarecognizedlegalentity,meetingtheMCCC CompanyEligibilityRequirementsaslistedabove.
EmployeeEligibilityRequirements
Employeesofparticipatingcompaniesareeligibletoparticipateprovidedtheyarenot includedontherosterofanotherparticipatingcompany,andtheymeetoneofthe followingconditions:
1.Afull-timecontinuousemployee.Afull-timeemployeeisanindividualwhoisnormally requiredtowork35ormorehoursperweek.
2.Apart-time/on-callcontinuousemployeewhohasbeenemployedwiththecompany andhasworkedaminimumof750hourspriortothestartofthecompetition.
3.Apart-time/on-callcontinuousemployeewhohasbeenemployedwiththecompany andhasworkedaminimumof165hourspriortothestartofthecompetition.
Retired,Laid-Off&ContractEmployeeRequirements
1.Retiredemployeesofaparticipatingcompanymayparticipatewiththeirformer employer.Aretiredemployeeisdefinedasanemployeewhoisnolongeremployed andmeetstheparticipatingcompany’sretirementrequirements.
2.Anemployeewhosatisfiesthenormaleligibilityrequirementsbutistransferredfrom theareabyhisorheremployerpriortothestartofthecompetition.
3.Laid-offemployees,whosatisfynormaleligibilityrequirements,mayparticipateas longastheywerelaid-offduringthecompetitionperiod.
4.Contractemployeesmayparticipatewithaparticipatingcompany,providedthatthe contractemployeemeetsthenormaleligibilityrequirements.Ifcontractemployees meetthenormaleligibilityrequirementsformorethanoneMCCCparticipating company,theemployeeisonlyallowedtocompeteforoneofthosecompanies.
