YoungAthletes
YoungAthletesisauniquesportandplayprogramforchildrenwith andwithoutintellectualdisabilities.Thefocusisonfunactivities thatareimportanttomentalandphysicalgrowth.Childrenages2to 7enjoygamesandactivitiesthatdevelopmotorskillsandhand-eye coordinationasanearlyintroductiontosportsandtotheworldof SpecialOlympics.TheskillsdevelopedusingtheYoungAthletes curriculumpreparechildrentotransitiontoSpecialOlympicssports teamsandcompetitionsettingsoncetheyreachtheageof8.
Aparent/guardianmustremainon-siteforthedurationofYoung Athletesprogramming.
AthleteLeadership
SpecialOlympicsTennesseeAthleteswillbetakingonleadership rolesthroughouttheentiretyoftheFallGamesinrolessuchas:

● FacilitatingTSSAAcompetition
● FacilitatingtheHealthyAthletesarea
● Lunchdistribution
● Tournamentadministration
AnathleteDOESNOTneedtobecompetinginasporttoregisterfor StateFallGamesAthleteLeadership.
EventCommunication
AllHODsandcoacheswillbeaddedtotheeventtextchain.All eventupdatesandneededemergencyinformationwillbesent viathistextchain.Eachprogramisresponsibleforgettingthe informationtotheirathletes,families,andspectators.
EquipmentRequirements
Equipmentnecessaryforcompetitionwillbeprovidedateach venue.AllathletesandUnifiedpartnersshouldbeincompetition appropriateattire.Jeans,cowboyhats,sandals,crocs,orany open-toedshoesarenotappropriateforcompetition.All non-medicaljewelrymustberemovedduringcompetition.
● Bowling:participantsmaybringtheirownballsormayuse houseballs;pairs/teamsshouldbeinmatchinguniformtops
● Fitness:teamsshouldbeinmatchinguniformtops
● FlagFootball:teamsshouldprovideeachparticipantwitha flagbelt;teamsmustwearmatchinguniformtopsand bottoms,andbottomsMUSTbepocketless
● Cornhole:pairsshouldbeinmatchinguniformtops
Credentials
Allmembersofthedelegationwillbeprovidedwithcredentials. TheyarerequiredtobewornthroughouttheentiretyoftheGames, withtheexceptionbeingduringcompetition.
Physicals
EachHeadCoachshouldhavetheirathletes’physicalsonhand, eitherphysicalordigitalcopies,throughtheentiretyoftheGames.
Medical/EmergencyPlans
MedicalStationswillbelocatedatvariouslocationsthroughoutthe venue(seeVenueMapattheendofthisdocument).

SOTNPolicies
Alcohol&Tobacco
Thereisabsolutelynoconsumptionofalcoholicbeveragesor smoking,vaping,chewing,oruseoftobaccoproductsallowedatany timeduringSpecialOlympicsevents.
Pool&HotTub
Allrecreationalswimminginpoolsorhottubsisstrictlyprohibited whileparticipatinginanySpecialOlympicsevent,includingtravelto andfromthatevent.
15-PassengerVan
SpecialOlympicsprohibitstheuseof15-passengervansfor transportationtoandfromanySpecialOlympicsevents.
ClassA
Allcoaches,Unifiedpartnersovertheageof18,andanyothersthat travelwiththedelegationmustsubmitaClassAform.
CoachingRequirements
Coachesneedtobeuptodateonthefollowing:

Travel&Housing
Travel
Programsareresponsibleforalltravelarrangementsandexpenses fortheirdelegationstoandfromtheGames.PleasenotifyNathaniel andJeffifyourdelegationisrunninglateorencountersan emergencyontheroad.
Housing
Programsareresponsibleforallhousingarrangementsand expensesfortheirdelegations.
Roles&Requirements
Athletes
Athletesattendingthegamesmustcommittogivingtheirbest effort,treatingotherswithrespect,listeningtocoachesandSOTN staff,andrepresentingtheirteam/programinthebestlight.
Coaches
Coachesattendingthegamesmustacceptandfulfillthefollowing responsibilitieswhileprovidingforthegeneralwelfare,safety, health,andwell-beingofeachSpecialOlympicsathleteundertheir supervision.

● Reportingtocompetitionareasatthepropertimes
● Assistanceintakingfulladvantageofspecialevents

UnifiedPartners
UnifiedPartnersattendingthegamesmustcommittobeing teammatestoSOTNathletes,listeningtocoachesandSOTNstaff, representingtheirteam/programinthebestlight,andbeing stewardsoftheUnifiedprinciples.

InclementWeather
Intheeventofinclementweather,suchaslightning,allattendees willbeaskedtoreturntotheirvehiclesforsafety.
Onehornblastsignifiestheenactmentoftheinclementweather plan,andallattendeesmustreturntotheirvehicles.Twohorn blastssignifiestheresumptionofcompetitionasscheduled.
EvacuationPlan
Intheeventofanevacuation,allattendeesmayreturntotheir vehiclesandvacatethepremises.
EmergencyVehicleAccessPoints
Ifnecessary,allemergencyvehicleswillparkneartheentranceto thecompetitionvenue,allowingforquickandeasyaccess.Weaskall attendeestothegamestoleaveamplespaceatandaroundthe venueentranceforanemergencyvehicleandemergencypersonnel toaccessthevenuequicklyandsafely.
