Let’s

work together to create a more inclusive Tennessee.

A letter from the CEO

On behalf of the athletes, coaches, volunteers and families of Special Olympics Tennessee, I invite you to join us in making a profound difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities across our great state.

For over 50 years, Special Olympics Tennessee has been transforming lives through the power of sports, health, and leadership programs. Our impact extends far beyond the playing field—we’re building a more inclusive society where every person is valued, respected, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Every day, we witness incredible stories of perseverance, courage, and achievement. Athletes are finding newfound confidence and skills, families are finding supportive communities that are more inclusive and understanding as our programs grow in their respective areas. These transformations are only possible because of the generous support like your.

By partnering with Special Olympics Tennessee, you will:

Empower Athletes

Your support directly funds year-round sports training and competition opportunities for over 18,000 athletes across Tennessee.

Promote Inclusion

Help us support Unified Champion Schools, where students with and without intellectual disabilities learn and play together.

Improve Health Outcomes

Support our Healthy Athletes program, providing free health screenings and education to individuals who often lack access to quality healthcare.

Your support helps us expand our reach, enhance our programs, and create more opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to shine. Whether through corporate sponsorships, employee giving programs, volunteer engagement, or event partnerships, there are many ways for your business to get involved. I welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can work together to create a more inclusive Tennessee.

Together, we can reveal the champion in all of us.

Special Olympics is “The Most Credible Charity In America,” according to a survey in the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
“The most important lesson I’ve learned in my lifetime of work with the athletes of Special Olympics is the profound dignity inherent in every human being. When we honor that dignity, we bring out the best in others and the best in ourselves”
—Timothy Shriver, Ph.D, Chairman of the Board, Special Olympics

In Tennessee, these schools empower students to participate as Unified Partners in sports teams, where they train and compete together in an environment that celebrates differences and fosters camaraderie. Unified Champion Schools go beyond athletics, incorporating inclusive youth leadership and whole-school engagement to create a culture of acceptance and unity. Through these partnerships, students build friendships, develop leadership skills, and work toward a more inclusive school environment, creating lasting impacts that reach far beyond the playing field.

I invite you to join us in a mission that transcends sport —a mission to create a more inclusive world for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

By partnering with Special Olympics Tennessee, you’re not just sponsoring an organization; you’re investing in human potential.

Your support can be the catalyst that transforms lives, families, and entire communities across Tennessee. Your investment in our work will have a lasting impact on the lives of our athletes and in the communities where they live.

But the true value of your partnership goes beyond numbers. It’s in the smile of an athlete who crosses the finish line for the first time. It’s in the tears of joy from a parent watching their child succeed. It’s in the changed perceptions of volunteers who discover the incredible abilities of our athletes. It’s in the communities that start to embrace inclusion and create opportunities for everyone to thrive.

Join Us in this Transformative Journey Today, I challenge you to be more than a sponsor. Be a champion for inclusion. Be a catalyst for change. Be part of the Special Olympics Tennessee family.

Together, we can reveal the champion in all of us and build a more inclusive Tennessee, one athlete, one game, one partnership at a time.

Let’s make a difference. Let’s change lives. Let’s do it together.

Together, we can reveal the champion in all of us.
