NAPLES networking group plans Oct. event The Naples Area Professional League of Executive Services (NAPLESGroup. net), a business-to-business networking organization, today announced details of the organization’s annual Big Event scheduled for Oct. 14 at Shula’s Steak House in the Hilton Naples, 5111 Tamiami Trail N., Naples. The event is open to the public and will begin with a cocktail reception followed by a three-course meal with guest speaker Norman Love, an awardwinning chef who is president and founder of Norman Love Confections, with chocolate salons in Naples, Fort Myers and Estero. The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee (WIB) will announce the 2015 Apex Award recipient(s) during its July networking meeting. Recently, the Ventures Inc./Marine Concepts Cape Coral facility was filled with employees, family members, business leaders and elected officials as Gov. Rick Scott honored Bob Long with the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award. This award is given to individuals for their efforts in creating jobs and opportunities for Florida families. Long and his wife, Karen, own JRL Ventures Inc./Marine Concepts. “They are a wonderful family that really care about their employees,” Scott said. The number of employees continues to grow. The company has created 139 jobs since the governor was first elected, with 49 jobs being added this year alone. “I am honored to receive the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award from Gov. Rick Scott,” Long said. “We

The Above Board Chamber of Florida recently presented “Building Business Referrals” in both Naples and Fort Myers. The luncheon meetings included expert panelists who discussed a key component for growing businesses--using referrals. Many companies approach other areas of their business with a strategic plan, yet a wait-and-see approach often prevails when it comes to referral networking. The expert panelists showed attendees how to apply the same diligence dedicated to other business operations toward developing meaningful referral partner relationships that are consistent, self-sustaining and mutually beneficial.
