VC Power- Navigation - Report
I would like to start this update by thanking Peter Brown for his leadership as VC(Power) for the last couple of years. Peter remains a staunch advocate for SYC Powerboaters and I look forward to working with Peter over the coming years.
Since our last iN SYnC, SYC Powerboaters have been busy enjoying the last of the season’s cruises, successfully running the Qoin $10,000 Navigation Challenge, competing in the final events of the Navigation calendar, and celebrating all of that at our annual Power Boat dinner. The PB Committee has also been busy preparing our Cruising and Navigation seasons for 2022-23 (calendar available on the website) as well as preparing our team to contest the annual Goodwill Cup against RQYS.
In June we held an information session for Members where we presented overviews of Navigation and Cruising. If you are interested in either of these activities, please contact me via Reception. The information session will become an annual event. We also arranged for the Coast Guard to conduct a VHF radio course which allowed Members to gain their radio operator qualifications. Keep an eye on e-news for info about future radio courses.
