We have managed to get in seven games this year although it hasn’t always been easy due to the uncertain weather we all have to deal with these days.
We had full fields for Surfers Paradise, The Glades, and Parkwood. Because of rainy conditions we were lucky to get a game in at Arundel. The course wasn’t a hundred percent but it was a very enjoyable day. As it has turned out, this will be our last game there because the liquidators have moved in and the course is now permanently closed.
Emerald Lakes was the chosen venue for May. Everything was looking good but due to intermittent rain Members were given a choice of playing in the rain or not playing at all. Twelve chose to play.
We had planned to play Mullumbimby in June but had to cancel due to the sodden state of the course. Emerald Lakes came to the rescue, we had a full field and everyone enjoyed the day.
Parkwood was unique. We had a good roll up but two players fell ill out on the course. They both left for home, one taking her husband with her. This has never happened before!! I am happy to report they are both well. Our last game was at Gainsborough Greens. We had a small field. The course is still badly affected by the damp weather and some greens are in very poor shape.
