Chairman’s Report
This year has certainly been a challenging one to date, but even with these hurdles to overcome, the Club has begun to return to some normality, even with the ever changing restrictions to trade, and border regulations.
The Annual General Meeting held in July was well attended by Gold members. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Commodore, Mr. Ray McMahon for his term on the Board, his knowledge and dedication to the Club, and of course our sailing divisions. I’d also like to thank Mr Peter Miller as an outgoing Board Member for his time on the Board.
I’d like to welcome our incoming Commodore, Mr. Ken Tregeagle. Many of you already know Ken as our past Vice Commodore Power, and long term Club member and power boat enthusiast. Another new addition to this year’s Board is Mr. Greg Forgan-Smith, another long term Club member who has dedicated much time and knowledge to the Club as part of the sailing fraternity, in the Etchells division, as well as offering his professional
skills as an Architect.
Your new Board for 2020 / 2021 consists of Treasurer, Garry Edwards, Commodore, Ken Tregeagle, Vice Commodore Sail, Drew Jones, and Board Members Kerry Noyes, Chris Oxenford and Greg ForganSmith.
Another milestone reached at this year’s AGM was the confirmation of two Life
Members to the Club’s honorary list. Mr Christopher Oxenford and Mr. Gary Doornbos, for their years of service to the Club on multiple committee’s and time on the Board, knowledge and advice on growth, building and expansion, both on water and off, these gentlemen have
been dedicated, passionate and always willing to help in any way. Please be sure to congratulate them when you see them in the Club next.
Moving forward, the Super Yacht Berth project is progressing well. You will notice the fencing being erected, and the works about to begin. This is a very exciting time for the Club to gain yet another long term asset that will see the Club continue to grow and allow us to offer state of the art
facilities for years to come.
The Club looks fantastic, I encourage you all to come down see the changes, but don’t forget to book early as we are booking out quickly (a great problem to have for any business!)
Look forward to seeing you all in the Club, or on the water, again soon.
Scott Siganto Chairman
