I always think this half term is the hardest. The dark mornings and evenings are a struggle for both the adults and children alike. Along with the horrible cough and cold season, chapped lips and sore red noses, it’s a tough few weeks, straight off the back of a busy Christmas break. As you can see from these photos the fun and joy never stops at South Lee and even on the darkest and gloomiest of days we always know how to be zestful!

We hope your children enjoyed the January Joys. The excitement of having something new to look forward to each day brings a little bit of much needed cheer, which I hope that you can see in these photos.

We have fitted in so much this half term and next term looks set to be just as busy.

Throwback to the heart of winter when we fully embraced the simple pleasures and unique delights that January brought our way! From karaoke nights to hooka-duck fun, and from hot chocolates to animated moments in the school hall, January Joys were all around! Even our morning workouts with Mr. C and games of sardines with Mr. M added a spark of excitement to the chilly mornings! Our French club celebrated Epiphany with a delightful Galette des Rois. Following tradition, the youngest member, Shia, took a special seat under the desk as I carefully sliced the galette.

Shia had the honour of designating who would receive each slice. The lucky person who discovered the feve in their slice was crowned King or Queen for the day, and in our case, it was Sener. Congratulations, Sener! Of course, we all enjoyed a delicious piece of the galette together.

It was another delightful week at Knitting Club with Mrs. Ronge!

Our young crafters really got the hang of it and had a blast!

In STEM, Year 2 took on the challenge of building a bridge for the Billy Goats Gruff. Their impressive creation stretched a whopping 8.30m! Well done, boys and girls!
