WOW!
What a wonderful end to the year we had at South Lee Prep & Nursery! The sun shone on Speech Day and we enjoyed performances and reviews led by the children themselves reflectingabusyandsuccessfulyearinsomany areas of school life! I loved listening to the pupils' academic highlights which are often difficult to share with parents and the wider community as they are in-class moments, shared between pupil and teacher. It was just lovely to hear so many 'wow' moments were takingplaceonadailybasisintheclassroom.
Matilda was an absolute highlight with children in Year 4 and upwards embracing each performance with gusto. The singing, dancing and acting were absolutely incredible anditwasparticularlyheartwarmingtosee,in front of our very eyes, pupils develop their self-esteemandconfidenceastheylearnednew performance techniques and received delightedfeedbackfromcheeringaudiences.
Sportplayedahugepartinthetermwiththree fantastic Sports Days taking place as well as several successful tennis and cricket matches, roundersanddodgeballtournaments.Allgreat fun!
And finally, we had a very special last day of termwithpupilsbattlingitoutintheCrinkley Cup (don't ask!) enjoying a BBQ and further celebrationsinFinalAssembly.

Our annual Parents v Staff Cricket match was great fun, with supporters enjoying picnics and a PTA BBQ. There was even a side game of rounders too!
Year 3 pupils really enjoyed singing at the Cathedral as part of the Big Sing. Along with several other local schools, the children had the opportunity to learn new pieces, guided by the cathedral staff.
Bawdsey Manor 2023
Pupils at the top of the school enjoyed on a week-long trip to the fun-packed Bawdsey Manor. A multitude of activities were sampled including canoeing, abseiling, zip lines and raft building. The children worked brilliantly as a team, enjoyed amazing weather and had a lot of fun!
Nursery Swans took part in their first ever school outing! They had a wonderful time at Jimmy's Farm and were brilliantly behaved all day. They loved the trip in the minibus and the packed lunch as much as the animals! A wonderful first school trip!

The whole school enjoyed an afternoon of gardening and site development. Pupils dug a new flower bed, filled planters, watered our Jubilee hedge, weeded and planted flowers and vegetables all around the site. They also had sessions looking at their own ideas for green site development and sustainability in school. Brilliant work by everyone!

An Evening of Music and Verse
The Music and Drama
Departments hosted a wonderful evening of music and verse on the last Monday of term. Picnics were consumed while we were royally entertained. Well done, everyone!
Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful visit to Church Farm to learn all about how to grow strawberries. They were even allowed to pick a punnet each to take home!

We were treated to a fabulous BBQ on the last day of term, enjoying the gorgeous weather and the lovely school site together.
