WOW! Magazine South Lee Prep & Nursery, Bury St Edmunds Feb 2023

It's been a wonderful half term full of January Joys! Pupils have experienced a wide variety of 'different' activities to keep the days full of fun and help them to bounce out of bed in the mornings - even when it was rather dark and cold!

More joy was seen at the regional netball tournament with our talented U11 team. Winning every game and with a very exciting final, the girls fought hard to become regional champions and qualify for

We finished this half of term with a focus on Children's Mental Health week where we focussed on the five ways to wellbeing.

I hope you'll see in this WOW! magazine that connecting, being active, taking notice, learning and giving to others is all part of a normal week at South Lee Prep & Nursery!

Year 6 and 7 turned their hand to pastry making! Glorious smells of cinnamon, sugar and apple wafted down the stairs of South Lodge from our new Food Technology room.

We all thoroughly enjoyed a chinese feast to celebrate Chinese New Year. Thank you to our wonderful catering team!

BAKE SALES

This half term, pupils in Year 5 and 6 have baked to raise money for good causes! The children were fantastic at organising the stalls and excellent marketing skills when selling their cakes!

South Lee head off to Netball Nationals after winning IAPS regional tournament!

Staff v Parents: Netball 2023

The annual staff v parents netball match was a closely fought occasion with a packed house of supporters of all ages!

The final score was 17-10 to the staff. We can't wait for the next match already!

GRANDPARENT LUNCH

Grandparents of Year 2 pupils were invited to join us for lunch earlier in the term. They enjoyed a roast dinner and some excellent lunchtime chat from the children!

Pizza ExpressPIZZA MAKING

Pupils in the Pre-Prep had the opportunity to visit Pizza Express to learn all about fresh ingredients, Italian cuisine and how to make a really good pizza. They particularly enjoyed sampling their efforts!

Teamwork and Leadership Workshop

Blue-sky thinking, teamwork, leadership, collaboration and thinking outside the box were all skills that were developed and put to the test in our recent workshop.

Winners of the termly Pillars Awards were treated to a special lunch to celebrate their achievements and contributions to the school community. Well done, everyone!
