Local pharmacist writes a prescription for healthy water By Harry Kyle The Southington Citizen A medication disposal program, open to residents of Southington and Bristol, will be held at the headquarters of the Southington Water Department, 605 W. Queen St., Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program will offer free collection and disposal of unwanted medications. A joint venture of the Southington and Bristol water departments, the event has been six months in the planning. The program was the brainchild of John Dobbins, a member of the Southington Board of Water Commissioners, and a local pharmacist. “The program is designed to keep our water system clean and get old medications out of the medicine cabinet,” Dobbins said. “We really don’t know what the

Run by the Southington Community Services Department and sponsored by the CCOG Women’s Health Group, with offices in Southington and Bristol, the Unique Boutique will feature a collection of new and gently used designer clothing
and accessories that will be available for purchase at “unparalleled, highly unusual” prices that “have no equal.” Community Services Department Director Janet Mellon said the idea for the event came from a conversation she had with Charlotte Anderson, the daughter of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, while at a Salvation Army conference in Dallas. “People have no idea about how much charity work the Jones family does in the Dallas area,” Mellon said. “Anderson has been running charity events for many years, and she runs a
