Southington drivers can get ready to smile for the cameras By Julie Sopchak The Southington Citizen Illegally passing a school bus in Southington is something drivers might want to avoid in the near future, as the Southington Public Schools will be implementing the use of video cameras on school buses to catch violators in the act. The district will be contracting the task of recording to Redflex Student Guardian, which will attach cameras to school buses

and be triggered to record immediately when a bus flashes its red lights, has its stop sign out, and the doors are opened. Director of Operations for Southington Public Schools Frederick Cox has worked with Redflex to get the cameras installed after a piece of legislation was passed through the Connecticut General Assembly that would allow towns to receive up to 80 percent of each violation fine to use the See Cameras, page 8
