LOGIC Model
The Son of a Saint model is holistic and responsive, founded on an enduring mentee-mentor relationship. We support every facet of boys’ lives with programming that meets boys where they are based on specific needs and circumstances. The result is a formula for success tailored to each boy.
Son of a Saint’s Logic Model demonstrates how each element of our program leads to specific outcomes – and ultimately to a successful and healthy adult life.

When I first met Sonny [Son of a Saint’s Founder + CEO] in 2010, I remember thinking that his vision for Son of a Saint was not only necessary, but critical– and with the right resources, partnerships, and support, the program could serve as a model for how to spark generational change for New Orleans’ young people. Needless to say, I signed on immediately.
Since then, I have been consistently encouraged and inspired by the organization’s work and dedication to tackling some of our city’s greatest challenges head-on.
When I stepped into the role of Board Chairman at the start of 2022, we had just made it through two of the most unprecedented, unpredictable years in recent history. While the COVID-19 pandemic threatened to shutter youth-serving organizations and programs across the country, Son of a Saint responded with strength, never pausing, or diluting critical services for the young men we serve. In fact, against all odds, Son of a Saint found ways to grow like never before and overcame barriers to achieve great success.
By the end of 2022, Son of a Saint reached its highest enrollment of 204 young men; graduated over 30 mentees; expanded education, mental health, and postsecondary services for all mentees; and opened the Ochsner Health Son of a Saint Bivian Lee, Jr. Center– the permanent headquarters for its program. None of these milestone achievements would have been possible without the collective efforts of our community.

As I reflect on the first year of my tenure as Board Chairman, I’m filled with immense pride and gratitude for my fellow Board members, Son of a Saint’s dynamic staff and dedicated volunteers, and the partners who made transformational investments in our program when our boys needed it most. In the face of so much uncertainty, our network remained constant, showing their dedication to achieving exceptional outcomes for the young men we serve day-in and day-out.
Today, the need for Son of a Saint’s mission has never been clearer or more urgent. The challenges facing New Orleans’ youth are numerous. Covid learning loss, neighborhood violence, poverty, and the increased prevalence of anxiety and depression indicate a need for us to lean in and show up strong once again. Son of a Saint is dedicated to doing just that.
There are great needs to be met, and many exciting opportunities ahead of us, and I know Son of a Saint is up to the challenge. Thank you for your unwavering support.
