2022 Mentor of the Year

Serving as a mentor at Son of a Saint has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’ve had the privilege of helping boys navigate some of the challenges and opportunities they face growing up without a father in New Orleans, and it has been incredibly fulfilling to watch them grow and develop into young men over the past six years.

One of the most important things I have learned as a mentor is the power of positive reinforcement. I’ve been fortunate enough to see firsthand how encouraging and praising boys for their efforts and accomplishments has a huge impact on their confidence and motivation. I’ve also learned the importance of listening. Taking the time to listen to their concerns and ideas has allowed me to form strong relationships with the boys.

Overall, being a mentor at Son of a Saint has been an incredibly fulfilling experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in making a positive difference in the lives of young men growing up in our community!
