Any Guild news for the next months newsletter needs turned into the Volunteer Office before the 15th of the month. Call 356-8234. Linda Brown, President of the Scioto Guild hopes that everyone is doing well and happy. Sandy Cable, President of the Hope Guild writes, ‘It is so good to be back working the Gift Shop. Things are getting better and better. Soon we will be able to have guild meetings again. I called the doctor’s office to schedule a check-up and told the receptionist that I am off on Mondays and Wednesdays, but not Wednesday mornings because I volunteer at the hospital. She immediately replied, “Well thank you for all you do, as we sure do appreciate you.” Jenny and Sherri tell us this a lot, but it sure made me feel good to hear it from someone else too. I know you all do a lot of good and I am so proud to be a part of all of you volunteers.” – Sandy Cable Mary Moore, President of the Pleasure Guild writes, “When, when, when – that is the question on all volunteer’s minds these days. Well, it’s getting closer. Some volunteers in limited areas have been able to return with more to follow (hopefully) soon, as Jenny will update us just as soon as she gets the word that it is safe for our return. In the meantime, you can get ready. Need a hair trim? A new pair of walking shoes? Does your dog need to be weaned from being with you all day long? Countless things that we might have postponed during our year-long hiatus. So get ready, you may soon get the call to return to volunteering and be interacting with all the folks we’ve missed so much!” – Mary Moore
Glenna Arnett, President of the Pediatric Guild writes, “One of the best feelings in the world is knowing that your presence and absence both mean something to someone.” I read this the other day and I know that the staff at SOMC surely did miss their volunteers and are so happy that some are now able to return due to positive changes of the Covid-19 Pandemic in our county. We are still not able to meet in person for guild meetings yet, but it will be great when that happens! I would like to say that I have enjoyed serving as President for the Pediatric Guild these past 2 years! We have a great group of ladies that love to work together to give back to SOMC and our pediatric patients. I would like to say “thank you” for your support, fun times and your friendship! Looking forward to all that we will accomplish moving forward too! Happy Summer Everyone!” - Glenna Arnett Karen Evans, President of the Service Guild writes, “I would like to extend a special thank you to the Hope Guild for graciously sharing their Books Are Fun vendor so that our Guild could benefit from the proceeds received from the upcoming virtual sale. This will be the Service Guild’s first fundraiser in over a year. Looking forward to seeing everyone hopefully in the very near future! Until then everyone stay well and safe” – Karen Evans Karen Wood, President of the Kardia Guild writes, “I am very thankful and excited that more volunteers were called back to work. Looking forward to having our guild meetings in the near future, and in the meantime, everyone stay safe, happy and healthy!” – Karen Wood

Sacrifice A father tried to teach his seven-year-old daughter the meaning of sacrifice. He explained that the finest gift a person can give is some cherished possession, one that the person values very much. On Father’ Day the father found pinned to his coat a large sheet of paper on which his daughter had laboriously printed with red crayon; “You are my faverit Daddy and I luv you heeps. My present to you is what I likes best. It is in your poket.” In his pocket he found a strawberry lollipop that he had given her the week before. It had only been licked once.
Happy Father’s Day!
