GIVING GAME

Solihull Moors are delighted to confirm the return of our popular ‘Giving Game’ initiative, as we welcome Dagenham & Redbridge to Damson Park for our final home fixture of the 2024/25 season – all in support of the Solihull Moors Foundation

This fixture has been designated as the club’s ‘Giving Game’, where admission is available for a minimum donation of £1 with further options of £5, £10 and £20, with all proceeds supporting the Solihull Moors Foundation and its work across the local community.

Thank you to TicketCo, who have waived their booking fee to ensure that we are able to maximise the donations made to the Solihull Moors Foundation

*Tickets are capped at four tickets per order*

In place of fixed ticket prices, supporters will be invited to make a donation upon securing their ticket. While £1 is the minimum, we encourage fans to contribute whatever they feel able to, knowing every donation directly supports lifechanging projects across Solihull.

Your generosity will support the Foundation in the delivery of their several projects across the Solihull community.

Thousands of people across the Borough benefit from the Solihull Moors Foundation through local activities and much more.

These include the likes of the Down Syndrome Team as well as projects within elderly care homes as well as the HAF holiday camps.

£5 – Provides a child with a hot, nutritious meal

£10 – Supplies equipment for mobility sessions in care homes

£20 – Delivers a full day of activities, food, and companionship for a local child

During the year of 2024, the Foundation delivered in excess of 15,000 hours of work within the community whilst also being involved with over 25 schools across the Solihull catchment area.

Proudly Supported by Davisons Law

We are grateful to long-standing club partners Davisons Law, who are proudly sponsoring the 3G events on matchday to help make the Giving Game possible

Kerry Morgan, Director at Davisons Law, commented: “Our sponsorship of the football Olympics today reflects Davisons Law's deeprooted commitment to supporting local sports and the wider Solihull community ”

“By backing this exciting event, we are proud to not only champion local talent but also encourage positive connections that sports can create. At Davisons, we believe in the importance of nurturing local initiatives and are excited to see the impact this partnership will have on both the team and the fans ”

Davisons Law are Solihull’s local solicitors and have been a long-standing partner of the club and we’d like to extend a massive thank to the team at Davisons Law for the continued support over the course of our partnership.

chairman notes

Welcome back everyone as we take on a really good Rochdale side who will be looking to build momentum and carry that into the play-offs.

At the same time we want to finish as strongly as possible and carry our own momentum into next season so it should make tonight’s game a really good one to watch,

Although we have steered well clear of the dreaded relegation places I think all of us were looking over our shoulders at some stage this season so having our place in the league secure was the first target and now we have to build from here. Safety wasn’t cause for any great celebration, we should never have got ourselves into that situation in the first place and the aim was to compete for promotion not end up in the bottom half of the table.

You learn a lot about people when times get tough and Matt, the staff and the players will have learned plenty about togetherness and determination Hopefully those lessons will stand us in good stead for a push towards the right end of the table next time around.

We want a fresh start and I think wearing next season ’ s kit for the final game,

at home to Dagenham on Monday, is a very positive signal that we are putting this season out of our minds. The kit looks great and has been very well received by the players so I hope many of you get hold of the new home shirt on Monday and wear it with pride throughout the summer.

That Dagenham game is our ‘Giving Game’; instead of buying a ticket we are simply asking for a donation towards our Foundation which does so much great work across the community of Solihull It’s never about just the First Team here: over 80 teams wear the same badge and will be here on Monday to create what we hope will be a fantastic celebration of all that is good about this football club.

And finally, talking about atmosphere, it was an honour to run the London Marathon on Sunday to support our friends at Cure Leukaemia. They are an inspirational charity, based here at Damson Park and doing great work to support thousands of people whose lives have been affected by Leukaemia. Those people were in my mind whenever I started struggling during those 26 miles and in those tough moments the cheers and noise from the crowd pushed me on to keep going and give it my all. It’s not lost on me that the support and encouragement of our fans can have an equally motivational effect on the players.

Best wishes

Solihull Moors are proud to announce our brand-new home shirt for the 2025/26 season will be unveiled at our ‘Giving Game’ as we take on Dagenham & Redbridge this Bank Holiday Monday.

Crafted by Macron Cardiff, this marks the second stunning home kit designed in partnership with the Moors, ahead of an exciting new Vanarama National League campaign. The bold new shirt stays true to tradition, showcasing our iconic yellow and blue colours – a vibrant symbol of the Moors’ spirit and pride.

Once again, long-term Club partner LivingWell takes centre stage on the front of the shirt, marking their third consecutive season supporting the Moors in style.

Meanwhile, Point-S are proudly continuing their support as sleeve sponsor for a second consecutive season, with their logo once again taking pride of place in a key position on the shirt.

We’re also delighted to confirm that local butchers Eric Lyons have renewed their partnership for 2025/26, with their branding set to appear on the back of our shorts throughout the campaign

And we ’ re thrilled to welcome our newest Club Partner – MPA Creative – whose logo will feature proudly on the back of our home shirt for the upcoming season

Fans can get their hands on the new kit at the Club Shop Limited stock is available across all sizes, so be quick to secure yours while supplies last!

ACTION SHOTS

The best of the action with Richard King

This one ’ s from the Tamworth away match Wilko and Ozzy lined up, poised and ready for a throw-in. The first half wasn’t Moors’ best showing, and I barely had anything worth keeping on the memory card. But this shot stood out to me from the few I managed to capture. A quiet half, but a moment of calm focus.

complete contrast to the first half, the second gave e plenty to work with. I absolutely love this shot of hit’s winner Fletch leaping into his arms really makes e photo special. A perfect capture of raw, spontaneous joy.

ouldn’t leave out the Moors faithful who travelled in mbers for the Good Friday Derby. And what a Good day it turned out to be! I’m always at home behind the ns with Moors fans away from home here they are ost-match, celebrating a brilliant victory. Scenes like this remind me why I do this.

proper Wilko sandwich—two Boston defenders battling r frontman. How much better do Moors look with a ly fit Connor in the lineup? He makes such a ference.

Clarkey celebrating his last-minute winner against Boston st look at the emotion on his face. I missed the moment he mped right in front of me, but the raw energy in this frame ll tells the story.

switch radio

If you haven’t met me down the Moors or heard me on the radio, I’m Daniel Jones, I voluntarily commentate on Solihull Moors for local community station Switch Radio, our sports team specialises in covering local grassroots and nonleague teams across a range of sports, giving unique coverage to a variety of West Midlands-based sides.

This second feature will reflect on my experiences in the gantry this season. Last year was special in so many ways, not least because of Moors’ impressive away record, winning 47 83% of their matches on the road. It was an excellent achievement that made travelling the country from Bolton much easier – and it was genuinely exciting to head to games without any fear of the opposition.

This season has been as fun, albeit in a different way. Unfortunately, this campaign has been shaped by a battle for survival, a storyline that has been difficult to portray to listeners, because as I wrote last time, you can’t help but become a supporter of this magnificent club. The start of 2025 was particularly tough. Travelling around the country and witnessing a downturn in form first hand was difficult, but what stood out even more was the unity of the fanbase

Seeing the same loyal faces follow Solihull around the country, including midweek games away at Woking and Aldershot –without a second thought – truly underlines how special this club is and it inspired me to travel across England for the supporters who couldn’t make it to the ground.

At times I questioned whether anyone was even listening to the commentaries, and it was difficult having to conclude each broadcast in a similar way, as well as having to ask difficult interview questions post-match, which as a fan you don’t want to be asking. It’s tough, especially after long, cold trips to faraway games As a club though, we got through it, because Moors always do.

Once again, it has been a privilege and a pleasure to commentate on The Moors and I cannot wait to do this all again next season. Our coverage will evolve heading into August, and I have been working on some new ways to do this for the 2025/26 campaign.

With regards new content for next season, I am always open to suggestions, you can message me on X, my account is @TheJonesDaniel, or you can get in touch with @switchsport If you have an interest in sports broadcasting or radio then we are always open for new volunteers at Switch Radio, the way to apply is via our website switchradio.co.uk.

MINSTERMEN BEAT MOORS

Elliot Thorpe opened his Solihull Moors account in spectacular fashion, as his first-half rocket proved the difference in a hard-fought 1-0 win over Southend United at Roots Hall.

The Moors started on the front foot and found their breakthrough inside 10 minutes. After Jack WellsMorrison won the ball in midfield, he fed Thorpe on the left. The winger danced inside before curling an unstoppable strike into the top corner an early Goal of the Season contender.

Southend responded with intent, forcing Laurie Walker into a string of key saves.

Noor Husin and Leon Parillon both went close, while Ben Goodliffe cleared a Marcel Oakley effort off the line just before the break after Thorpe led a lightning counterattack.

The second half was all about resilience. Southend threw everything at the Moors, but the backline— led by the outstanding James Clarke stood tall. Goal-line clearances, last-ditch blocks, and another vital save from Walker ensured the clean sheet stayed intact.

Despite late pressure and a few close shaves, the Moors held firm to take all three points back to the Midlands.

ELITE ACADEMY EDGE CLOSER TO TITLE

Solihull Moors produced a scintillating performance to brush aside Halifax with a commanding 6–0 victory, highlighted by a first-half hat-trick from Billy Fielding and a relentless attacking display from start to finish.

The Moors set the tone early with a spell of sustained pressure, and the breakthrough came inside five minutes. Billy Fielding opened the scoring after his initial shot was parried by the goalkeeper but crept over the line.

Halifax looked for a response, but goalkeeper Joe Neeson pulled off a stunning double save on the quarter-hour mark, first diving low to his left, then recovering to stop a follow-up effort to his right preserving the Moors’ early lead.

With Solihull dominating possession and territory, Kai Singh doubled the advantage on 18 minutes. Driving through the heart of the Shaymen defence, Singh unleashed a thunderous strike from the edge of the area that flew into the net.

The Moors continued to apply pressure, and Fielding soon had his second. Connecting cleanly with a deep Ethan Bracher corner, his volley crashed off the crossbar and bounced just over the line. On the half-hour, Fielding completed his hat-trick in style, finishing from the penalty spot after neat link-up play from Kyle Moseley off a throw-in.

Chances continued to flow, and just before the break, Solihull could have added a fifth as efforts from Moseley, Bracher, and Malaki were all blocked in quick succession. At the other end, Sam Smith was alert to clear a rare Halifax effort off the line in the 40th minute, preserving the clean sheet.

The second half began in much the same fashion, with Bracher and Moseley testing the Halifax defence With just over an hour played, Mason Chisholm added his name to the scoresheet, racing down the right-hand side before seeing his shot deflect into the net to make it 5–0.

With ten minutes remaining, Richardson picked up a loose ball in midfield and surged forward before playing in Chisholm.

Reaching the byline, Chisholm delivered a pinpoint cross to Seb Pearsall, who finished calmly from close range to round off the scoring.

It was a statement win for Solihull Moors, with sharp finishing, high energy, and a ruthless edge that left Halifax with no answers.

Omari came close to adding another moments later, rattling the crossbar following a corner, as wholesale changes from the Moors failed to disrupt their attacking rhythm.

Happy 46th Birthday Faye Smith! Lots of love from Dean, Noah and Leila x

FAMILIAR FACES

Killian Barrett and Michael Adu-Poku return to Damson Park tonight, this time in opposition colours.

Barrett arrived in B92 on a one-month loan deal from Sheffield Wednesday, playing a key role as Moors went unbeaten in league action for December. Meanwhile Adu-Poku lit up the flanks in yellow & blue prior to his recall from Watford.

A warm welcome back to Damson Park for the duo!

Watch highlights from our last match against Rochdale where Conor Wilkinson’s double secured three points at the Crown Oil Arena back in September!

LAST TIME OUT

Conor Wilkinson made it three goals in two games, as the Moors won consecutive away games with a 1-2 win over Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.

Moors took the lead through Conor Wilkinson. From a Rochdale goal-kick, Wilkinson won the ball inside the Rochdale penalty area before finishing in the top left corner to make it 0-1.

Solihull then doubled their lead with Wilkinson doubling his tally for the day. Osborne’s pass was controlled by Wilkinson deep inside the Rochdale half, with the striker then running through on goal and placing the ball past David Robson to make it 0-2 to the Moors.

With three minutes of normal time to go, Rochdale cut the deficit in half with Kairo Mitchell continuing his hot streak.

Allarahkia cut the ball on his right-foot, before the ball bundled its way into Mitchell, who finished into the goal to make it 1-2.
