Inspiration: While doing workshop at Laurie baker center
I saw so many circular structures which are mystery within themselves. I asked to K.P. Kannan that why all the structure has circular in shape he replied “because it is stronger than a straight wall and creates harmony to the viewer.” I released that creating such designs and following it to the entire site is not an easy task but it is interesting so I decided to make something circular which looks like an infinite on going cycle of space and structure.
Concept: Wadi is a concept of small group of houses
and families used to live together in konkan region of Maharashtra. Forming cluster of open spaces and gathering spaces near to the houses is very old concept of kokani people which is deforming now because of the modernism. I tried to achieve that old concept in my planning with amalgamation of curves in different forms like an arches, structural curves, grounds, landscape and etc.
