Q: We’re planning to build our dream home, what loan should we consider? If you’re looking to build a new home, you might want to use a construction-to-perm loan. These loans cover everything needed to build your dream house, but convert into a conventional mortgage once construction is complete. It only requires one round of closing costs compared to construction- only loans. You’ll pay less in closing costs, only draw funds as needed, and you will make interest-only payments during the construction phase.
