from August 2023
by societylife
Northeast Tarrant County - Walks in Grapevine & Arlington
Alzheimer's is a progressive disease that devastates families... finances... futures. But hope is never lost as long as the Alzheimer’s Association is hard at work!
As the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support, and research—the Alzheimer’s Association is leading the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia. They do this by accelerating global research to find a cure, passing landmark legislation to fight, prevent, and effectively treat the disease by 2025, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. With an estimated 55 million people worldwide living with dementia and 6 million in the U.S. alone facing Alzheimer’s, the need for their services couldn't be more dire. Local chapters across the nation provide services within each community. To advance diversity, equity, and inclusion, their free nationwide 24/7 Helpline is staffed by masters-level clinicians and specialists in over 200 languages. The Alzheimer’s Association's website is one of the richest resources to inform and educate multiple audiences, including those living with the disease, caregivers, and professional healthcare providers. With a comprehensive database of dementia and aging-related resources, the Alzheimer’s Association makes it easy for families to find programs and services. The Alzheimer’s Association is closer than ever to stopping Alzheimer’s. But to get there, they need you! That's why they are excited to announce the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This Walk is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event happens each year in over 600 communities across the globe. Every dollar you raise benefits those affected by Alzheimer’s in your community. Multiple races are going on throughout North America—two are in Northeast Tarrant County. The Walk in Grapevine will be held on Saturday, September 30, and the Walk in Arlington will be held on Saturday, October 14. Participants of all ages and abilities can join the fight against the disease. When you participate in Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the funds you raise fuel the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association and helps advance critical care, support, and research. At the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, they are fighting for a different future—for families facing the disease today... for more time... for treatments. They know that the first survivor of Alzheimer’s is out there—with the help of the Alzheimer’s Association, that survivor can be you or someone you love!
WHO: The Alzheimer's Association is a nonprofit 501c3 leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. We can support them today to help achieve their vision of a world without Alzheimer’s tomorrow.
