PERFORMANCE POETRY

YEAR 7:

As part of the Year 7 study of how Australian experiences are represented through poetry, students explored the creative potential of generative AI to design picture books inspired by a poem of their choosing. Alongside their visual storytelling, students reflected on the collaborative nature of this process, recognising the importance of human interpretation, creativity and decision making when working with AI. This display celebrates their critical thinking, artistry and evolving understanding of how stories are shaped.

YEAR 8:

As part of their study of performance poetry, Year 8 students composed an original poem and recorded their own delivery. Students were given freedom to choose a topic that held personal significance, resulting in work that is thoughtful, honest and deeply individual. Tonight, they share selected extracts from their pieces. Their mature ideas and willingness to engage in meaningful conversations are commended and their courage in performing work of such a personal nature is genuinely appreciated.

Stage 5 Geography Sustainability Exhibition

This semester, Stage 5 Geography students explored the topic of sustainable biomes.

For their Term 3 assessment, students were challenged to create an educational exhibit designed to help younger students understand how human activities involved in producing certain crops and commodities can impact the environment.

The purpose of the exhibition was to promote sustainable practices that reduce environmental damage caused by the production of these crops and commodities.

Students researched a range of topics including palm oil, cotton, chocolate, cocoa, soybeans, mining, avocados, and rice, and presented their exhibits to primary school students in Term 3.

A selection of these exhibits is on display tonight.
