July 8, 2025 ~ Chamber Bi-Weekly eBlast

Our hearts go out to the people of Kerr County and the surrounding communities affected by the devastating flooding. The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce is holding you close in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. With so many personal and professional connections to the area, we know this tragedy touches many in our own community as well. In Texas, we are a close people ? and in times like these, we stand together.
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As we move into the heart of summer, I want to take a moment to share just how grateful we are for the incredible spirit and support that makes Smithville such a special place. From local events to everyday moments of kindness, it’s clear that our town thrives because of the people who call it home and we are proud to serve such a vibrant and connected community.
Congratulations to our Chamber Raffle Winners, Sheila Spring and Max Meek! We hope you both have an unforgettable time at the ball game. A big thank-you to everyone who purchased tickets and supported the Chamber through this fundraiser . Your generosity helps us continue the work we do to uplift local businesses and connect our town.
We also had a wonderful time being part of this year’s 4th of July Parade! It was such a joy to see everyone out and about, celebrating together. We've included a few photos from the day below. Be sure to take a look and relive some of those great moments. We’re also excited to share news of a small but meaningful improvement downtown.
The Chamber recently installed a new handicap-accessible sidewalk connecting to the Pavilion by the Farmers Market. The City is now exploring options to either add or relocate ADA parking spots closer to this new access point, helping ensure better accessibility to Railroad Park, the Gazebo, and the Pavilion for all members of our community.
The annual Best of Bastrop County voting kicks off on July 21st! This is a great opportunity to show your support for the incredible local businesses that make our community shine. Once voting is live, we’ll share the link on our social media. Stay tuned and be ready to vote for your favorites!
Looking ahead, we’re excited to gather again at the July Chamber Mixer, hosted by Consuela. During the event, they’re graciously giving back a portion of all purchases to the We Support Smithville ISD Committee. Come enjoy some time together and shop for a great cause. And don’t forget: Casino Night is coming up on July 19th! We can’t wait to see everyone dressed up and ready for a fun evening. You’ll find links to purchase your tickets below. It’s going to be a fantastic night of games, laughter, and community connection.
Lastly, remember to check out our online community calendar for upcoming events. Chamber members are encouraged to add their own events as well as it’s a great way to stay engaged and help spread the word.
Thank you for all the ways you support the Chamber and each other. Let’s keep building a stronger, more connected Smithville, together.
Warm regards,
Caroline Noya Chairman of the Board

Smithville Celebrates the 4th with Community Spirit and a Fantastic Parade!
This year’s 4th of July Parade in Smithville was a true celebration of community, tradition, and small-town charm! Stephen Barthelme of the VFW proudly served as Grand Marshal, leading a festive lineup that stretched from NE 1st & Main by the Chamber to NE 6th & Main near the Library.
The Smithville Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) made a strong showing with trucks featured at the beginning, middle, and end of the parade! Crowds enjoyed a colorful mix of bicycles,
golf carts, tractors, classic cars, trucks, floats, and even a few four-legged friends trotting along in patriotic style.
Though the weather was warm and humid, cloud cover helped keep things comfortable for parade-goers lining the streets.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made this Independence Day one to remember!
