Since 1994, Scotland Memorial Foundation has annually played host to its premiere fundraising event, Putting on the Ritz - A Gala of Giving. From the moment of arrival on the Hospital campus, Ritz guests enjoy five-star service, including valet parking, coat-check services, and assistance by our wonderful volunteers during the evening in our elegant 14,800-square-foot ballroom. Once in the ballroom, guests partake of exquisite entrees and decadent desserts prepared by Master Chefs. As if that were not enough indulgence for one evening, guests can dance the night away with live entertainment

Our online bidding system allows guests to bid right from their seats. Guests will receive alerts instantly if they have been outbid and can continue bidding until the final second

Scotland Memorial Foundation touches hundreds of people every year by funding health and wellness programs and services that offer hope, encouragement, and a healthier way of life.
Your help makes us stronger. By partnering with us for the 30th Annual Putting on the Ritz - A Gala of Giving, you are making a statement that says you care…about the health of your community, about the health of your neighbors, and about the health of your family and friends.
How you help?
All net proceeds from the Ritz are used to carry out the Foundation’s mission to support Scotland Health Care System and improve regional community health. Some of the programs and services funded by the Ritz include (but are not limited to):

• Free Mammogram Fund
• Henley’s Heart Fund to support Cardiopulmonary Rehab Patients

Fund the Need
Every year Scotland Memorial Foundation designates a recipient of the Fund the Need initiative. This year, 100% of Fund the Need contributions will support diabetes for those in need.
The staggering facts about Diabetes are:
• More than 37 million people in the United States have diabetes, and 1 in 5 of them don’t know.
• 96 million US adults - over a third - have prediabetes, and more than 8 in 10 don’t know.
• Diabetes is the eighth leading cause of death in the US and may be underreported.
• The leading causes of death in Scotland, Robeson, and Marlboro counties are heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
• In the last 20 years, adults diagnosed with diabetes has doubled, mostly due to obesity.
• About 130,000 people have amputations each year related to diabetes complications.
• Many patients lack funding for medications and healthy eating habits.
• Many patients don’t have transportation to make regular appointments for screenings.
• Diabetic patients with wounds who miss weekly appointments because of a lack of transportation are 50% more likely to face amputation.
• Many patients don’t have access or financial means for glucose monitoring or other preventative measures.
