The Manager
Sloane FC welcome Broadfields United to Hackney Marshes Centre. A Happy New year to all. Finally we get to play our first game of 2012. Having not played in 4 weeks Sloane are looking to continue their best start to a Premier Division season and today’s game is very important. Broadfields sit one place below Sloane. A win for Sloane would pull the side 7pts ahead with 6pts available for Broadfields in their 2 catch up games. Broadfields v Sloane has always been a close game with Sloane only managing a solitary victory against the Harrow & Wealdstone based side.
New management in charge of their side, their 3rd in as many years I believe. It will be interesting to see how much they have to offer. Losing 5-0 to Willesden Constantine is no fair reflection as they certainly have the ability to score. A goal tally of 13 in the last 5 games shows they are performing well. However conceding 16 in those games suggests they can be beaten.
They had to start the game with 8 men due to 3 players becoming lost and not arriving until 25mins after kick-off. When Sloane became full strength they began to attack and it was a welcome return to the 1st team for Reece Cripcoza who scored his 4th in 11 league games. It wasn’t quite enough though. As Sloane gave away a penalty early in the 2nd half to see them throw away that lead
In Sloane’s last game, way back on 10th December 2011 they travelled to Windsor to play Singh Sabha and were bitterly disappointed with a draw.
Sloane come into this fixture well rested and determined to continue the unbeaten run into 2012. Good luck to both teams. Saturday 14th January

Sloane FC was established in 2007, and now in their 5th season the club has ambitions for promotion to Step 6 and silverware in the cabinet. Sloane 1sts play in the Middlesex County Football League Premier Division. Sloane Reserves play in the MCFL Senior Reserve Division. In their inaugural season (07/08) Sloane reached the semifinal of the London FA Junior Cup and finished 4th in MCFL Division 1 Central & East. Sloane got promoted in 09/10 to Premier Division and have stayed their ever since. Narrowly surviving on the final day last season. Thanks to the Football Foundation, Sloane introduced a Sunday team for the 10/11 season who did well in their debut season being title contenders up until the final couple of game. Continuing in the 11/12 season they play in the Central London Sunday Super League Premier Division on Sunday Afternoons. Sloane also have a Ladies team this season playing the Greater London Women’s League Div 3 North. The club celebrates it’s 5th Anniversary this season with many more social events and fundraising opportunities. Broadfields folded in 09/10
Recent History 2001/2002 Broadfields ran six teams, 1st and Reserves playing in the Middlesex County Football League, Premier and Division One (Saturday’s). Two teams played in the Harrow Sunday Challenge League and one played in the Hillingdon & District Sunday Football League. This was also the season of Broadfield’s Social Clubs disaster. We burnt to the ground, leaving only the changing/shower facilities. This however did not stop us from playing football, as indeed we did. 2003/2004 Broadfields runs less teams, 1st playing in the Middlesex County Football League, Premier Division, Manager: Marvin Hall, Coach: Mike Jennings, Physiotherapy: Mick Croft. Our Vets team play in the London Commercial League, Division 6 and went through to a cup final. We also had two Sunday teams playing in the Harrow Sunday Challenge League. Chris Webster’s team won the Harrow Sunday Challenge League Cup.
Last 5 Results:
2005/2006 Chris Webster’s team won the Harrow Sunday Challenge League and Jack Walker Cup. 2006/2007 Chris Webster’s team won the Harrow Sunday Challenge League and Benevolent Shield. 2007/2008 Chris Webster’s team were runners up in both the Sunday Premier Cup and Champions Cup. 2008/2009 Chris Webster’s team won the Champions Cup and Jack Walker Challenge Cup. They were runners up in the Premier League. 2009/2010 Dene Gardners (Saturday) team were runners up in the Middlesex Intermediate Cup. Chris Webster’s team won the Middlesex County Premier Cup and Champions Cup. They were runners up in the League and the Premier Cup. 2010/2011 A disappointing season by Broadfields standard. The Sunday team came runners up in the Champions Cup Final, narrowly losing 2-1.

Sloane Round-Up Reserves & Sundays Reserves 1-3 loss A loss before Christmas to top side Sandgate was a disappointing result according to captain Dave Smith.Dave felt that with a full strength squad they could have got something from the game. With only 1 defender and 1 sub the team was as makeshift as it could have been.
Sundays 3-4 loss Sundays jumped to top of the league but had to play Recreatvio FC at their place. Sloane went into a game without a goalie and debut for Danny Gajkowski between the sticks he was certainly thrown in at the deepend. 0-3 down Sloane came from behind to make it 2-3, before it ended 3-4.
