DESIGN

GO BOLD OR GO HOME. When Choctaw Casino and Resort decided to undergo a transformation this past year, they weren’t talking a small addition. With a new 1,000 key hotel, retail space, conference facilities, restaurants, movie theatre, multiple entertainment venues, and a new parking garage in the works - every contractor had to step up their game to meet the 30-month design and construction timeline.

KSC prepared shop drawings that would serve as the roadmap for measuring, fabricating, and installing the ACM panels needed to construct the giant, intricately-designed porte-cochère with a faceted soffit that welcomes you to the new venue.

TECHNOLOGY

ALWAYS DOING THE MOST. KSC utilized cutting-edge technology including 3D scanning and BIM to overcome jobsite challenges imposed by the location of this project within the center of the Preston Ridge campus. The original design concept was divided into three parts: a light-colored block portion that is referential to the materials used throughout the rest of the campus, a dark-colored floating brick box symbolizing the future innovation and growth of the college, and a central glass atrium that connects the two. The desire was for the materials on the exterior to continue into the interior including the patterns on the floor, the brick and block walls, and even the metal panel ceiling. By doing this, the idea was that it would produce an effect that when standing inside the atrium, it’s like you are standing in between two independent buildings. By utilizing the technology mentioned above, all teams were better able to visualize critical aspects of the project during the pre-construction phase through digital representation of the structures.

FABRICATION

what the façade?

At KSC, our fabrication team is equipped with the most advanced machining technology allowing for us to create systems with the highest level of beauty and accuracy. With years of experience creating custom pieces for our client’s architectural façade needs, we’re able to deliver projects that range from the simplest to the most complex including a wide range of architectural metalwork applications like trim, flashing, column covers, sunshades, louvers, and screens.

As the Parkland Health & Hospital system continues to grow in Dallas, KSC worked on a six-story parking structure with over 80,000 square feet of custom fabrication and exquisite architectural metal installations.

With the need for the garage to be both aesthetically pleasing and fit within a tight budget, the KSC team collaborated closely with the project group to create a custom corrugated and perforated façade. The perforated metal wall panels achieve the desired design by softening the appearance of the structure while adding an interesting touch – all without sacrificing performance.

INSTALLATION

WE ARE YOUR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE. KSC not only designs and fabricates, but also expertly installs façade projects of every type. Kansas State University’s Bill Snyder Stadium recently underwent a transformation with its South Endzone Project. With a critical time-line needing to be adhered to in order for the stadium to be utilized for the 2021 season kickoff, KSC eliminated the need for an additional contractor by being able to offer these installation services. The project team stayed in-tune with the construction process throughout its entirety and were able to deliver a stunning project before the season began.
