WELCOME Welcome to Kilkenny City: home of Ireland’s Medieval Mile, Ireland’s Ancient East and the “best little comedy festival in the world”. It is with great honour and pride that I present my fourth and final programme for the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, the 22nd of its name. Having weathered the storm, the future for the festival is very bright indeed. It is a tribute to the clear vision and dogged determination of its founders that it has not only survived but grown to be one of the world’s best loved comedy festivals – one which has played a role in the careers of some of the biggest stars in the business. This year, we’re thrilled to present with Sky a premiere screening of their brand new series of Comedy Shorts, featuring some of Ireland’s greatest comedic talent. Our family-friendly programme also returns with the Kitten Club shows in medieval Rothe House, Karl Spain’s Hysterical Walking Tour of the city and, in an an exciting new collaboration with Gowran Park Race Course, we’re delighted to present a very special Bank Holiday Monday race meeting with a difference, as comedians bring their LOLs to the Sport of Kings. Winner alright. Drink deep. Eat well. Laugh out loud responsibly. Naoise Nunn Artistic Director

You can fly direct into Dublin or Cork airports or bring the car by ferry to Rosslare Europort. ACCOMMODATION & FOOD IN KILKENNY

Ireland’s just a short hop flight from the UK and Europe and it’s never been easier or quicker to get to Kilkenny once you arrive. You can fly direct into Dublin or Cork airports or bring the car by ferry to Rosslare Europort. Ireland’s brand new motorway network makes driving a breeze with Kilkenny now a mere 80 minutes from Dublin (Kilkenny is accessed via exit 8 from the M9). You can also catch one of the frequent trains and buses into the heart of the city from any urban centre in the country.

Kilkenny’s vast selection of high quality accommodation has something to suit every visitor, from charming family-run B&Bs to plush 5 star hotels and cosily rustic selfcatering cottages - and let’s not forget campsites for the true festival die-hard! Kilkenny has many great restaurants (including some newly awarded Michelin stars, no less!) but a word of warning; those comics are a hungry bunch and restaurants book up well ahead of the festival weekend so get your reservation in early to make sure you get a seat at the table. Check out the latest on our accommodation and restaurant pages or check out www.visitkilkenny.ie to help plan every detail of your Marble City trip.

Check out the links below for help with planning your route and travel, as well as arranging other activities for your trip to the Marble City. There’s lots of extra information available to download from our website including maps and visitor guides or check out www.visitkilkenny.ie for the very latest visitor information.
