In 1883 our idea changed brewing forever. Until Carlsberg developed a new yeast called ‘saccharomyces carlsbergensis,’ brewing consistently great tasting lager had proved very difficult. Just as we would today, we shared this discovery with our rivals. Confident in the knowledge that once something is perfected, it may be imitated but never bettered. Perhaps this is why Carlsberg is probably the best lager in the world. YOU CAN’T BEAT THE ORIGINAL.
