Two Gelatin Silver Prints: Eagle’s Store, Selma, Alabama, 1935, and Window, Mystic, Connecticut, 1942 Both signed and dated “Walker Evans...” in pencil on the matboard l.r., both identified with an artist’s stamp, Lyme, Connecticut, on verso, Window inscribed “Mystic, Conn.” and dated in pencil on verso. Gelatin silver prints mounted to matboard, sheet/image sizes to 7 1/4 x 9 1/2 in. (18.4 x 24.1 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Eagle’s with minor lifting from mount l.r. Provenance: Through the estate of Matthew Wysocki (1920-1991), artist, photographer, professor, and chairman of Dartmouth College’s visual studies department (19661989), to the present owner by family descent, Connecticut. $2,500-3,500 186 Walker Evans (American, 1903-1975) Two Photographs of Buildings: Cherry Valley Home, 1934, and Uncle Sam Plantation, Louisiana, 1935.
