Skinner's June auction of Asian Works of Art boasts over 1,700 lots and features the personal collection of late Charles J. Chu, admired professor, painter, calligrapher, curator, scholar, and educator. Well over 100 pieces from the Chu collection include works by Qi Baishi, Huang Binhong, Zhang Daqian, Wang Yachen, Fu Xiaoshi, Pan Gongkai, Huang Zhou, Wang Fangyu, Wang Dongling and C.C. Wang. Also featured in the auction is a wonderful selection of Chinese Ceramics from the Han to Qing dynasty, an impressive life-size carved wood statue of Bonten, Japan, late 19th century, a fine selection of Korean ceramics from Koryo and Choson period, and several lots of Japanese netsuke and Japanese and Chinese ivories.
