Eastgate Shopping Centre South Africa Eastgate Shopping Centre is the first super regional shopping mall in Johannesburg. Built in 1979 it has today more than 250 stores and covers a floor space of 122,000 m2. Two million shoppers visit Eastgate every month.

In 2013 SKIDATA received the order to replace the existing parking system. In only 6.5 weeks SKIDATA completed the installation of 13 automatic payment machines and 29 entry and exit columns and barriers. What makes the

implementation more impressive is that it was a parallel installation with the existing equipment being operational while the new equipment was being installed. The client did not lose a single day - worth of revenue during the installation period. A further positive comment came from the parking operations manager on site, who advised that he had never seen an installation where it was like a ‘simple plug & play’ and where all aspects of the equipment have worked as intended from the outset.

Highveld Mall South Africa Highveld Mall is a premier shopping center situated in the city of Witbank in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. Located just off the N4 Highway, Highveld Mall offers with its over 150 stores a comprehensive shopping destination catering to the needs of shoppers as far afield as Middelburg, Belfast, Ogies, Kriel and Swaziland. The mall attracts over seven million shoppers per year and employs over 2,000 people.

Highveld Mall was looking for a comprehensive, innovative parking solution for their existing underground parking area as well as for their new parking area, which was built as part of

the mall expansion in 2012. They also wanted to purchase a reliable system that was scalable and met future needs, i.e. credit card/stored value card payment and online booking etc.

Furthermore the customer had a specific requirement to have a robust parking system and was attracted to the design and feel of the SKIDATA equipment. By implementing a SKIDATA parking solution, Highveld Mall is the first center in Witbank to cater for paid parking.

Since the installation there has not been a single mechanical failure on the equipment, which not only the operator is extremely pleased with.

Kensington Square South Africa Kensington Square is a shopping center in the heart of Durban, South Africa. Prior to SKIDATA, the car park management was provided by a local service provider, but this meant big problems for the customers and had a negative impact on sales. The operators of the shopping center were looking for a simple solution that provides a high level of customer comfort and generates revenue.

Whistler Blackcomb Canada Located in the Canadian province of British Columbia, the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort with its 32 km虏 of slope area is considered one of the most popular ski areas in North America.

Two mountains are developed for winter sports: Whistler Mountain (2182m) and Blackcomb Peak (2440m). Thanks to a glacier on Blackcomb Peak, Whistler offers skiing enjoyment almost all year long. Whistler Blackcomb hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver for the alpine skiing competitions.

In total, over 90 access readers and more than 100 ticket printers were installed in Whistler from July to September 2014. The professional

access control system provides for, in particular, an increase in the customer comfort. In addition, tickets can be read quickly and safely.

Furthermore, with the installation of Opos.Cash a ticket presale solution was provided. This makes lift ticket sales available to guests in hotels, shops, tourist offices, etc. These decentralized ticket presales relieve load on manual payment stations and guests enjoy a convenient and quick ticket purchase - with immediate validity of the ticket.

Nevados de Chillan Chile The ski resort Nevados de Chillan is located at the base of the active volcano Chillán in the southern Andes in Chile, 82 kilometers east of the city of Chillan. Besides its wide range of offers for all levels of skiers, it is especially popular for race trainings due to its steep slopes.

The ski resort wanted to reduce ticket fraud and to increase revenue by using new and more flexible products. SKIDATA’s local branch worked closely with Nevados de Chillan to provide solutions that were perfectly tailored to the needs of the ski resort. Thanks to the upgrade of the previous manual control

systems to Freemotion.Gate, Nevados de Chillan was able to register a decrease in fraud cases. Innovative services and the provision of first-class customer service also improved the corporate image of the ski resort.

Furthermore, the ski resort also provides a parking facility with 200 parking spaces, which facilitates access to the slopes even more. An entry and exit regulates access of up to 450 cars daily.

Seattle Sounders FC USA Seattle Sounders FC is a football club playing in the Major League Soccer. To reach more fans and to get more season ticket holders Seattle Sounders FC together with SKIDATA implemented a MatchPass loyalty program.

This program is able to extend the strong ties to the fan base by giving Sounders fans the opportunity to become even closer to the team.

Using the MatchPass loyalty program not only allows the fans to collect points that can be exchanged for ‘money can’t buy’ rewards (such

as opportunities to meet the players, match day sideline passes and access to training sessions), but it is hugely valuable to the club, enabling them to increase data capture and influence the habits of their supporters.

Of the 32,000 season ticket holders in 2012, an initial 11,000 had already the MatchPass.

In 2013, more than 25,000 had the card and it became mandatory for 2014.

Westfield Miranda Shopping Centre Australia SKIDATA realized a great solution at Westfield Miranda Shopping Centre to shift away from a traditional ticket based parking access control system to a ticketless parking solution which gives the shoppers higher convenience and the operators a higher level of control as well as additional CRM possibilities.

The solution relies on license plate recognition technology to record the customers’ number plate details on entry, logging the time of entry against the number plate which becomes the

key identifier in lieu of a paper ticket. This then allows for rates or validations to be applied at point of payment.

Furthermore a purpose built digital eco system is realized to support the overall shopper journey; e.g. users can check elapsed parking time from smart phones. After user registration an SMS notification is received on entry and payment can be processed via a linked credit card.

Rooms Hotel Georgia In order to provide the guests of this 4-star upscale design hotel with the matching parking experience, the “Rooms” hotel is equipped with a SKIDATA parking solution. It is the first SKIDATA parking installation in Georgia, and ensures a smooth vehicle access to the underground parking of the hotel.

Parking is becoming more and more of an issue in the capital of Tbilisi, as parking space is limited - especially in the city center. The Rooms Hotel provides therefore two areas of underground

parking which are connected to each other and are of common usage.

With the SKIDATA solution the hotel provides comfortable and quick access for both the hotel guests, as well as visitors to the restaurant, which has become a hot spot for locals. Sugadaira Kogen Japan Sugadaira Kogen is one of the largest ski resorts in Japan. Consisting of a pool of five operators, four of them chose SKIDATA’s access management system: Hare Ski Resort, Oku-Davos (Ueda Resort Kanko), Sugadaira Ski House, Schneider Sakudo.

The operators were looking for a reliable partner in Japan and also one they could trust. In addition, they needed software, which would fulfill the requirement for an exact billing system for the various pool operators.

SKIDATA convinced them with its 10-year experience in Japan and its many different references, such as Shiga Kogen and Niseko United. Altogether, 15 Coder Unlimited, 35 Freemotion.Gates and 14 minicentrals were installed. In addition, SKIDATA provided the requested and customized software via a partner product.

Brunn am Gebirge Austria Brunn am Gebirge is an Austrian municipality that lies at the eastern foothills of the Northern Limestone Alps and at the step fault of the Vienna Basin. Today, Brunn am Gebirge has about 11,000 inhabitants.

In 2006, an initiative by a program aimed at involving the local population led to the redesign of the town center. As part of the project, the locals arranged for a parking garage to be built.

More parking was required on event days in front of the Brunn town hall and generally also in front of the citizens‘ office (SIB)/municipal office. The local citizens simply needed an easy solution for parking. They finally decided to build a parking garage with 96 parking spaces, of which 10 were for electric vehicles with charge points installed. Together with SKIDATA, the municipality of Brunn completed the project.

Further development plans will increase the capacity to 44,000 seats. For SKIDATA, at the moment FC Twente is the biggest stadium access project in the Netherlands.

In November 2012 SKIDATA was awarded the contract to deliver a people access system for the Dutch soccer club FC Twente. SKIDATA

In order to have an even more efficient operation, the municipality decided to centralize their activities and was in need of a control room.
