Covid-19

Trello board that documented sport-specific guidelines, advisories from multiple government agencies, and downloadable templates

Ensuring all affiliated clubs are eligible for the Sport Resilience Package financial assistance

Direct access with Recruit Inc to ask consultants questions in all matters relating to their club staff during Covid-19

Distributed a series of sport-specific guidelines, fact sheets and other resources to assist clubs to safely return to operations in a Covid-19 normal environment, directly emailed to affiliated clubs and publicly uploaded information on SG website for public consumption

As clubs began to return to operations, Singapore Gymnastics resumed the Annual Club visits. Throughout September and October 2021, SG was able to visit a 100% of the clubs that had requested a visit in 2020 from the National Office staff. This amounted to 70% of SG’s affiliated clubs. The team were also able to visit three new unaffiliated clubs to share with them the organisations strategies, operation plans and to prepare and assist them with their 2021 Club Affiliation.

Another initiative sparked from the annual club visits was the inaugural Club Coffee Catch Ups. These are periodic informal chats amongst club managers of all disciplines to lead collaborative dialogue, sharing knowledge and creating possibilities for action in groups of all sizes. Topics can range from management, risk, human resource, technology, marketing, leadership, facilities, finances and by connecting everyone, we are pooling intelligence, unique contributions and collective insights to tackle common issues together.

OTHER RELEVANT DISCLOSURES

OTHER RELEVANT DISCLOSURES

Conflict of Interest

The Board, the Audit & Risk Sub-Committee and other Sub-Committee members are expected to avoid actual and perceived conflicts of interest. Where these members have personal interests in business transactions or contracts that SG may enter into or have vested interests in other organizations that SG has dealings with or is considering entering into joint ventures with, they are expected to declare such interests to the Board as soon as possible and abstain from discussion and decision-making on the matter. Where such conflicts exist, the Board will evaluate whether any potential conflicts of interest will affect the continuing independence of the Director or Sub-Committee member and whether it is appropriate for the member to continue to remain on the Board or Sub-Committee.

SG Reserves Position

As per the Reserves Policy, the Board aims to provide stability to fund the structural costs in case of a decline in SportSG’s subsidies. Our reserves position is as follows:

Unrestricted Funds: Restricted Funds: Total Funds

Ratio of Reserves to Annual Operation Expenditure Operating Expenditure for the year

Current Year Previous Year

$336,370 $97,490 $433,860 $177,359 $98,200 $275,559

% Increase/ (Decrease)

90% -1% 57%

0.18 $2,443,656

0.08 $3,423,403

The Board aims to build up this fund to about SGD500K or approximately equivalent of one year of salaries. About SGD100K will be held in an operating bank account to fund working capital requirements. Since setting up the reserves fund in 2010, the reserves have been held in a separate Fixed Deposit account. The current amount is adequate to cover at least salaries for re-employment transition in case this NSA should stop operations. SG is up to date with the submission of our Online Evaluation Checklist via the Charity Portal and the renewal of our Institute of Public Character (IPC) Status.
