A Message from Matthew H. Maschler Real Estate Broker
Welcome to the October edition of the Real Estate Finder Newsletter.
October is one of my my favorite month of the year in South Florida. The weather is starting to cool off a little, and early morning walks are back without the heat and sweat of the Summer, yet it is not as busy or crowded as “Season” has not started yet.
Those of us in the real estate business are seeing an uptick in Buyers making showing appointments as people return to the area. The team here at Signature Real Estate Finder is excited to show available properties and highlight the unique opportunities this changing season brings to the real estate market.
Of course those Buyers now have to sign Buyer Broker Agreements, and typically there have ben no objections in that regard.
I am excited to announce that this October marks another exciting milestone. Last October saw the 100th Episode of the Real Estate Finder Podcast, and this October we will see the 100th Episode of my other Podcast, the Matthew Mania Podcast. Ask The Broker
Dear Listing Agent,
If you do not wish to receive a Buyer's commission, that is perfectly fine. But understand that means the Listing Agent will keep the Buyer's side of the commission.
Dear Matthew,
My 28 year old son closed on his first home last Friday. I represented him on the buyer side. I wrote in the contract that I was getting no commission. When I saw the settlement sheet I learned that the listing agent took a full commission. I realize that he did nothing wrong but I was a little surprised. Am I wrong about that?

What you probably wanted to do is CREDIT your commission to the Buyer, that is something different. You do not need to put that in the contract between the Seller and the Buyer. Simply notify the Closing Agent to credit your commission to the Buyer at Closing.

April is originally from Kentucky and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western Kentucky University. She completed her Masters’ degree in Fine Arts at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She worked at various theaters on the east coast and toured with a theatrical cirque for three years before finally calling Boca Raton Florida her home.
April lives with her husband, owner of APRO Home Inspector, Jamie Riley. Her daughter, Savannah is an Environmental Engineer major at University of Central Florida. April enjoys working out, creating delicious & healthy meals, and napping in
