Greetings and Happy Holidays.

Can you believe it is December already? This has been one of the craziest years as we have been trying to come out of the pandemic that isn’t really over, and making the turn to where we can really start helping our clients and running a smarter operation. You all have been amazing. We were in uncharted waters, with relentless demand from all directions from valuable customers, carriers, port delays and yet thanks to all of the team work, we are getting ready to close out 2022. The SPWG team is incredible and we are now taking the time to reach out to each of our customers, and making sure that we are doing a great job for them, and not just getting by. By getting better forecasts, more information and staying close to their needs, it will translate to a more organized day to day operation. Bit by bit we will make each day run smoother and allow you to accomplish more with less frustration. Thank you for rolling with the changes this year. One thing we have done us to “make our customers more successful” as is our mission. When we succeed there, we are able to make it better here, day in and day out. Thank you so very much and I know that together, we will build a stronger 2023.

We are so excited to partner with Modesto on Ice by sponsoring their Skate Shed for the 2022-2023 Downtown Modesto Skate Season. We have worked with Modesto on Ice for years and we are excited to announce that we are hosting the annual Sierra Pacific Private Skate Night! Come skate with the SPWG Family on January 12th 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Immediate families are welcome to join and sign up sheets will be at the holiday luncheons on December 15th in Patterson and December 16th in Modesto. Make sure to get your name in ASAP to get your free skate passes to celebrate the New Year together! Swing shift employees can get coupons for free skate tickets to use another time that works best for your schedule! Check out Rockin’ Holiday in 10th Street Plaza December 15th, 16th, 17th and December 22nd and 23rd presented by SPWG, ModestoView, and Collins Electric.

WE ARE RAIL SERVED

Take advantage of our excellent rail service with both of the Class A railroads. Our Modesto facility features daily connections to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) and Union Pacific lines via the Modesto and Empire Traction Company.

Plus, our Patterson facility offers frozen rail via the Union Pacific Railroad as well.

Modesto Gospel Mission

We are so grateful to be able to partner and work with our neighbors at the Modesto Gospel Mission. They are working to help tackle addiction and homelessness crises in our community and have a wonderful team working to bring people from the Gospel Mission both into the community and into the workforce. Sierra Pacific has been working in tandem with the La Loma Neighborhood group and ModestoView to donate winter clothes, canned food, arts & crafts supplies, shoes, community outreach and more! Thank you, Modesto Gospel Mission, for all the great things you do for this city.

This newsletter, we would love to feature the amazing Angelica Barraza! Angelica handles the fast-paced and high volume Nestle Purina program at our corporate office and has provided the dedicated time, attention, and initiative whenever needed to get in and get any project completed. She is a hard worker that goes above and beyond to make Sierra Pacific successful each and every day. Christina is so grateful for Angelica and had the following to say about her teamwork and performance: “She is the prime example of someone who pushes herself to do better. She takes constructive criticism well, and shows she did the work to better herself. She is trustworthy, communicative, but most importantly, rain or shine we at SPWG can count on her. Belinda has joined the Sierra Pacific Warehouse Group team as our HR and Payroll Administrator! A few words from Belinda: “My experience is as a Payroll Administrator at a construction company for the last 20 years. My responsibilities included payroll processing, garnishments, medical benefits, 401K, human resources, accounts payable and accounts receivable. I am excited to join the SPWG team as the new Payroll and HR administrator. I have already felt very welcomed by everyone. I am a very proud mom of two children, a son who is a police officer and a daughter who is a

HOLIDAY LUNCHES!

We are so excited for the holiday season together with you all!

Our holiday lunches will be on December 15th in Patterson and December 16th in Modesto from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. We will have hot lunches, delicious goodies, and lots of new SPWG gifts and goodies for the New Year. We are also excited to honor dedicated employees that have been with Sierra Pacific for 5+, 10+, 15+, 25+ years! We are looking forward to celebrating the season and enjoying delicious lunches together to wrap up 2022!

It’s Time to Keep Time!

OPEN ENROLLMENT IS COMING UP!

Starting in 2023, we are looking forward to each employee having increased visibility and management of their timecards and timesheets! Each employee will be required to review and submit timesheets weekly via Paylocity.

This will be a great way to ensure that all employees have time to submit corrections, time off requests, expense reimbursements, and paid in the fastest manner possible.

Make sure that you can login to your Paylocity account before the end of the year and keep an eye out for any announcements! Reminder: opt in to paperless check stubs and tax forms so that they are always available (plus, save the trees)! You can also set up notifications so that you don’t miss any important communications or updates from management and fellow team members.
