message from the mayor

happy fall!

While summer may be ending, fall fun is just beginning. This recreation guide invites all ages to participate in unplugging and playing. Alongside indoor activities, the guide also includes a lot of great outdoor adventures

Our minor hockey Eagles (U7-U15) are looking for teammates. Nothing is better than being a part of a team! Core skills including commitment, confidence, collaboration, leadership, discipline and sportsmanship are developed. And true friendships between players and families are born. So much education comes from being a team player!

The Sicamous Pump Track is getting a workout! For those who haven’t tried pump tracking, check out the guide - a free learn to ride workshop will be hosted by the pros following the UCI Pump Track World Championship Qualifiers

Take a day to support our Eagles hockey club in the Eagles Golf Tournament at the Eagle River Golf Course on September 14. This is a great cause and a lot of fun!

Thanks again to the recreation department for all the work that goes into preparing the Recreation & Events Guide to ensure a lack of boredom in Sicamous and that we all have something to get involved in

Have a great fall, everyone! Enjoy the beauty, the crisp air and the changing colours of this place we call home. Fall is one of my favourite times of year!

new this fall

This fall, the District of Sicamous is shaking things up! We are saying farewell to after-school childcare, and hello to hosting a new wave of exciting programs.

Last winter, the District of Sicamous launched a Recreation & Events Survey Thanks to your feedback, new recreation programs and partnerships have been created to serve the community.

Rec programming for school-aged kids is now available every day of the week. Each day will be a new adventure with themed programs like music, art, cooking, fitness and STEAM projects There is something for everyone! All kids programs require a minimum of four registrants to proceed.

*NEW* for parents! Parent and tot classes in music, art and fitness. Want to try something new this fall? Adult kickboxing classes are waiting for you. You asked for it, time to deliver the punches!

And fear not, yoga enthusiasts, pickleball pros and firearm safety buffs, your favorite programs are still waiting. Let’s learn, get creative, move and let the good times roll!
